Do not be persuaded to buy expensive lamp bulbs from All Square! Initially I was extremely impressed by the apparent expertise of the staff. Having purchased light fittings, I asked for advice on the best quality and most environmentally-​friendly lamp bulbs for the lighting I had chosen. I was given an extremely technical response as to why I should purchase MTG 2s and assured they would be worth the somewhat eye-​watering cost of £33.40 per lamp as they would repay the investment over a long lifetime. On the basis of this recommendation I paid a total of £268.80 for just eight lamps. However, the lamps started to crack and show smoke damage within two years. When I queried this with All Square they stated that they couldn’t do anything as they no longer dealt with the supplier. Albeit the lamps were outside the warranty period of one year, given the recommendation by their staff to invest in such expensive lamps I would have been more impressed with All Square had they taken responsibility for their advice being poor on this occasion and made at least some attempt to resolve the issue on my behalf.

This is a review for All Square’s wholesale outlet on Ladbroke Grove rather than the main showroom on Talbot Road. During a recent kitchen refurb I picked up bits and pieces for the electricians on almost a daily basis. The team are extremely knowledgeable and helpful the best service I have ever experienced in London!

I was not expecting to find in London European lights at better prices than the lights sourced directly from continental Europe. But we did in Notting Hill at this small corner shop which distributes all kind of lights, from the branded Italian ones (Flos, Artemide etc.) to the technical architectural ones (Modular, Wever and Ducre etc.) to more basic ones (indoor, outdoor, bathroom etc.). We got good discounts (20−25%) for larger quantities and always a very helpful service. Definitely a place to go if you need lighting for decorating a room or for a full flat/​house renovation.
