Really glad I found this shop during my stay in London. I was searching for a nice organic store to shop at, rather than the dirty Sainsbury’s, and walked by this beautiful store. As Nature Intended has everything from toothpaste, supplements, to food. I loved the selection of breads that are not made with yeast as well as the snack bars. I’m pretty picky about the ingredients that are listed in my food, and they have a lot of things without the horrible additives. I wish they had these snacks in America!

As nature intended, is a bit like wholefoods, but UK based and having only 5 London based stores… They aren’t the big mammoth that wholefood is, and they do stock a lot of locally sourced products. The vibe is bright and airy so not only did I feel good about the things I brought there, but I also enjoyed shopping there. I absolutely love places that sell wholefoods, organic and good quality items, however I know that the cost of these places make them un-affordable as an everyday shop. However I love supporting ethical, local business and am happy to pay the bigger price tag every now and then for conscious shopping — as a treat and for the basics, this place is great. I briefly popped in here initially to buy a drink as I’ve wanted to check it out, having walked past so many times late at night, and found to my delight that they sell my favourite Elderflower Sparkling drink — which is a hard find in London. After trying some chocolate they were tasting, I decided to have a wander and found that they only sell Grove fruit juices(which I think is one of the best juices you can buy, however it was upsetting they didn’t have anything new for me to try), but do sell bulbs of Turmeric(I’ve been trying to get hold of some of this for a while) and they also have a wonderful range of conscious cosmetic products. They have a very extensive natural remedies and skincare department which I found particularly impressive. I felt like a kid in a Candy store… they have a lot of goodies I wanted to trial out and that I wanted to buy — and to feel good about buying. However time and bag size limited my shop. I just wish we had a store closer to where I live, however next time I’m in the area I’m giving them a visit with a rucksack.

It’s like Whole Foods! With the price tag to match! You know how they refer to Whole Foods affectionately as ‘Whole Paycheck?‘ Well, similarly — As Nature Intended(me to be broke). I suppose. This mini-chain is very similar to my favored«The Grocery» up on Kingsland Road but I just so happen to be down by Spitalfields often enough that I’ve popped in to this market a few times for the(not-so) essentials. Let’s face it, it’s a bleak state of affairs down Commercial Street at Tesco Local. I can’t even bring myself to go in there. The amount of plastic wrapping and pre-packaged foods just makes me want to barf, no joke. I just can’t most of the time, I’d rather go anywhere else. So yes, while As Nature Intended is a bit pricier — it’s also a LOT nicer, has WAY better food things in it and if I want to pay 100 quid for a bag of(basically) snacks, so it shall be done. Sometimes one just wants to feel wholesome, right? Yes. Of particular interest here is their health and beauty section — well stocked and comprehensive. They carry REN, which I adore and also full range of Wedela which I buy often for the little person in our house. The soups are great, and they have CO-YO(coconut milk yogurt) which is my favorite thing of 2015 thus far. Staff is friendly. You’ll be broke but you’ll be happy. Good organic food stuffs up in here.
