They were really rude
I came a little late after my family had ordered their deserts, as I sat down my brother asked for a menu for me but the owner (or waiter) said that I didn’t need one as I would be sharing with my other brother saying he shouldn’t eat his all by himself (I felt like he was implying that he was fat and so he shouldn’t eat his desert by himself). After about a minute after they insisted that I should have a menu he brought me one, at this point I didn’t want anything so I just said «no thanks, I’m okay». As we were leaving I stopped at the counter and asked for a single scoop cone but the lady told me that if I’m sitting I need to order at the table (I assume this is because there is an additional charge for eating in), I tried to explain that as we were leaving I would be walking out and wanted to pay for it myself, in the end I couldn’t get through to her and left the store.
I suppose this isn’t actually a proper review having not eaten anything, although I did try. I don’t doubt that their deserts are decent but I’ve just never had such a bad experience before and I won’t be going back.

My friend had shown me a picture of this dessert her friend took her to get two years ago in London… and this time, we asked her friend who took us there as well. They have ice cream spaghetti! I really thought they literally give you real spaghetti and then just tag on some ice cream…
We ordered the spaghetti nero seppia 6.30 pounds which consisted of chocolate ice cream, whipped crème at bottom and nuts and chocolate syrup and they didn’t give us that decoration/​waffle thing.*sadface. It was soo amazing… they somehow molded the ice cream to look like spaghetti…
We went back a second time the next day before my friend had to depart UK and I ordered the spaghetti carbonara this time… it is the same thing but with vanilla ice cream. So delicious… It’s quite pricey, but the experience and how good it was makes it worth it…
Next up. GELATO! or maybe one of their alcoholic drinks with ice cream *will update after i try.

We have had a pretty good summer in London this year after a shocking winter. This gives me an excuse for me to indulge in iced treats. Caffe Ciao is probably aimed at tourists as it’s on the main drag of Charing Cross Road leading from Trafalgar Square to Leicester Square.
There is a range of gelato flavours but not as wide a range as GIno Gelato or Amorino which are within a few minutes walk. They do however do a cheaper single cone (£2.50) than the other gelaterias
The other main draw are the sundaes — multiple balls of ice cream with different crushed candy bars, nuts, fruits, whipped cream, drizzled with amazing sauces. While not exaactly cheap, it’s cheaper than Haagen Dazs in Leicester Square and big enough to feed at least 2. Tip — always get the bigger spoon is you’re sharing!
I must return in the winter to see how this place survives the winter months

Delicious Ferrero Roche Sundae… CHECK
You want dessert? Ignore the bright lights of Leicester Sq. Come to this charming place. Safe place to take people to that never disappoints.
I must highlight the whipped cream. The only way i can describe it is like little pieces of delight in the mouth. I think they produce the cream themselves, thus having these pieces of clumped cream that are joyful ‘mistakes’. It gives a little texture to the whipped cream that is oh so heavenly!

My friends and I (all study abroad students) had just been down to the Leicester Square area for the museums and were drawn into this place by the fact that their awning said «Gelateria Italiana.» We surveyed the gelato, were convinced, and asked to be seated. The place was pretty full and we were seated in a booth and presented with menus featuring some of the most decadent gelateria creations I’ve ever seen. Unfortunately they were incredibly expensive (starting at £7), so we decided to just get scoops of gelato instead. Then we saw that Bar Caffe Ciao tacks on £1 extra to their gelato if you want to sit down to eat it. So we walked back to the front of the store, ordered gelato, and stood out in front of the door to eat it.
We asked for samples before buying, and the guy seemed kind of irked that we would do such a thing.
But the gelato is REALLY GOOD.
It’s also fairly expensive: £2 for one scoop, £3.50 for two, and so on. But it was good gelato and we were Unilocal-​less, so we didn’t dwell too much on the price.
£7 minimum for debit or credit cards.

I absolutely LOVE this ice cream parlour. It is one of my favourite places in London.
They do savoury food, but I mainly go there for the ice cream sundaes which are perfect to share. They’re about £6−7 and huge, so perfect for 2, or on your own if you’re feeling very indulgent!
There’s a huge choice and the ice cream is top quality italian gelato with a good choice of flavours. The ‘vanilla gold’ flavour is better than any vanilla I know of and the toffee white chocolate is pretty special!
You can also buy it by the scoop to eat in or take away but the sundaes are better value.
They have music videos playing on a screen in the corner which can be distracting if you sit within sight of it, but if you’re with friends and have plenty to say you’re likely not to notice it.
I have yet to find a better ice cream place in London (although do recommend more to me if you know of any! ;-))
I’m an ice cream fiend, it’s my ultimate ‘food thing’, so I mean what I say!
The management has recently changed and the service is now very very good (it used to be a bit dodgy, but it’s now brilliant).

Just south of Leicester Square on the Charing Cross Road, this is a real find: decent Italian food, decent Italian wine — and a jaw dropping array of dishes made of ice-​creams. I mean: you can have lasagne, followed by ice-​cream «lasagne». You can usually get in here, and it’s a nice place to go with a few friends for some wine and a mountain of Italian gelato after you’ve worn yourself out in the National Portrait Gallery!

Great place for dessert after meal! They serve huge portion of ‘ice-​cream dishes’. the menu is pretty impressive, tiramisu ice-​cream, spagetti ice-​cream, lots of different sundaes great choices and my favourite banana split!

For ice cream this place is great. Much better than the over-​priced ice cream of Haagen-​Daz round the corner. There are some fantastic flavours including; banana, strawberry, amaretto, mint choc chip, hazelnut and lemon and my firm favourite pistachio. They also have a range of sorbets including mango and raspberry.
I usually have a three or four scoop bowl, and although recently the scoops have got a lot smaller (making me wonder whether it would be better to buy a couple of tubs of ben and jerry’s and eat it in the comfort of my own home), I still find myself returning when I’m in central london because of the various sundae’s on offer and the delectable ice cream.

Smart people looking for ice cream in the Leicester Sqaure area don’t head to the long ques of the Hagen-​Daz café but instead sit down to this little Italian place that serves Illy coffee and has an impressive ice cream menu with equally impressive flavours. My favourite sundae on the list is a Ferraro Rochet inspired creation which tastes heavenly with an espresso to finish.
