Bar Tudor

Bar Tudor, formally known as Live Bar, was the Greenwich hot spot on a Thursday night, particularly for the Greenwich university students and the Greenwich raver. Since closing and re-​opening Bar Tudor is quiet and hasn’t managed to re-​build the clientele that Live Bar once had. The Thursday night is still quiet and although the students still stroll in, they stroll in much smaller groups than what they did when I was a Greenwich student, nevertheless it still gets fairly lively. There’s also a small promotion of ‘two beers for two pounds,’ for us girls we can pour those two pint glasses into two half pint or tumbler glasses and add some lime to keep our femininity! Wine starts at twelve pounds a bottle, which is the average price for a bottle of wine in most bars.
Fridays at Bar Tudor are pretty much dead, the music is loud and pumping and actually really good (funky house, Old Skool R&B, Old Skool Garage), unfortunately getting up and dancing would have been a terrible state of affair as we were the only two occupants and were sadly asked to leave at ten thirty! Yes, ten thirty on a Friday night.
The décor is really unique and distinctive, Audrey Hepburn canvases are mounted on the walls and comfy sofas and cushions are dotted about the bar.
Funky House promotions are held here on specific nights and I would strongly advise visiting Tudor Bar on one of these nights to avoid disappointment, unless you’re only after a quiet drink and an early kicking out!
