This place is a little gem, especially if you’re wandering around Camden looking for something more than your average bar. If you’re not careful you’ll just stroll right passed it. We stumbled in on acoustic night and while it’s not much to look at from the outside, upon entering you’ll find yourself in an intimate venue that showcases a selection of live music acts that’ll have you swaying your head or tapping your feet. The walls are painted with graffiti art of stereos and vinyls and there are a small range of candle lit tables and some sofas. The drinks here are good, although a little on the pricier side(£8.50 for a cocktail) but the free entry and the great atmosphere makes it worth it. I’m aware they have a happy hour from 5pm — 9pm. I would return here.

I’m a fan! Because: 1. A couch near the entrance where I can feel the nice fresh air while I drink 2. Margaritas in a variety of flavors. 3. Local music that makes my ears happy. 4. Great location and funky charm in Camden. I only wandered in looking for a place to drink on my birthday, and they fit the bill in the most lovely way. Inverness Street is a great mecca for cool places like this.

I was there once some months ago at night for some drinks. Then I actually did not like it too much. Now I was there for dinner, and the food was good — nothing special, but really good for a fair price and definitely a nicer experience than the Spanish restaurant the next door. The barman was really friendly — so the staff is a big plus. What was also better than at many other places was the music with a strong 90s touch. Well, that might depend on your mood. Sometimes you like listening to some 90s hits, sometimes not. But as I liked it, this made my stay at this place mor enjoyable.

I am completely tepid on Bar Vinyl. The location is great and seating is plentiful, but the experience was just generally quite«meh». The 2-for-1 Happy Hour deal they have in the evenings is a pretty great deal. There are only six cocktails to choose from, and most of them are quite foofy – Fizzy Peach, Tropical Punch, etc.(PS – I hate girly drinks). The least«girly» thing on the list was a bucket of 5 beers for £10, and the next un-girly cocktail was a Cuba Libre, so I went with that. The first round was fine, the second was made almost entirely of sweet-and-sour mix. Bleh. Maybe I’m getting old(25 isn’t THAT old, right? RIGHT!!!) but the DJ kept incrementally turning up the music as we sat, and it got so loud that we were literally shouting to each other just across the table. Conversation was impossible, so we downed the rest of our drinks and made a getaway. Ok, it makes sense to have a lively and enthusiastic DJ when the place is full of trendy Camdenites drinking cheap cocktails on a Friday night, but when the bar is filled with 3 small groups of blokes and one table of Unilocalers(that’s about 1⁄8 capacity of the place, so not exactly popping.), it seems a bit silly and unnecessary to blast the empty seats with mediocre music played at top volume. There’s a record store in the basement that I didn’t have time to explore, so that might be cool and earn them an additional star in the future, but the sub-par cocktails that take 20 minutes to make(literally 20. They insist on table service, and it honestly took 20 minutes for six drinks to arrive. Boo.), the horribly smelly bathroom, and the painfully loud music made the cheap booze pretty much not worth it.

Bar Vinyl is a nice looking joint, with a great funky vibe. There is nothing specific about the bar I could say I love, but the plentiful booth seating, tables and uncoordinated décor has appeal. From the moment you enter you can tell it isn’t about being prim and proper, it is about the music. Beats that make you want to dance play out of the heavy bass speakers in the back of the bar. I definitely see potential for a late night boogie here. Drinks wise, they do a 2−4−1 happy hour on selected cocktails. And when I say selected I mean select, as there are only six options and a five beers for £10 promotion running from 5pm-8pm. I started with a Vanilla Iced Tea that was good, although you can tell this isn’t a place whose ethos is to make killer cocktails. With this in mind I would never invite a cocktail connoisseur here because it really isn’t about mixology. For Bar Vinyl it is about getting bums on seats and more booze for your buck will always be popular. If you like your house music, Jamaican food and Happy Hour drinks, Bar Vinyl may be worth checking out. P. s. There is a dance music record shop in the basement. P. p. s. You can steal free wifi from Made in Brasil next door.

I have many happy memories here, whiling away long Camden afternoons into twilight. The DJ-as-permanent-fixture is a great touch, and should be considering this place is called vinyl and doubles as a record store. I’ve always met some colorful characters here with each visit and though my trips to London be limited these days I always try to come here whenever out and about in Camden.

Bar Vinyl is a really funky cocktail /DJ bar in Camden. It’s colourful, eclectic and really interesting, this is definitely one for a cool night out. They serve awesome cocktails here, all musical themed! My favourite cocktail would have to be the«Pimp Daddy». Delicious. The food’s not so great but you can’t have it all. I’ve been here a few times with a big group of mates and we’ve always had a brilliant time. The music, atmosphere and ambience is perfect for a funky night out in Camden.

As you might expect from a bar with ‘vinyl’ in the title this venue revolves around the music. Specialising in house and breaks, Bar Vinyl is also very receptive to other forms of electronic trickery and the DJs on offer are a varied and often spectacular bunch. The affinity with the music comes in large part from the record shop located right beneath the bar. The best thing about this place is the atmosphere, there’s no pretension and no cliqueiness, in spite of the varied crowd that attends. Everyone who comes here comes for the love of the music and this creates a real sense of comradery amongst the crowd. The fact that it is a little distance from the high street helps some too. During the day Bar Vinyl offers an array of multicultural cuisine from pizza to noodles to sandwiches, all at pretty reasonable prices. Drinks-wise its a fairly standard affair with nothing particularly eye-catching but again isn’t overtly priced meaning this can be a relatively cheap night. A great atmosphere to listen to some great music.

Visit Bar Vinyl any day of the week and you’ll immediately feel well received by the warm and decadent design and loungey, jazz vibes emanating over the stereo system. Bar Vinyl in the heart of Camden advertises itself as London’s DJ bar. They have a record store downstairs too, which specialises in house music and break beats. Get there on a cold day and muzzle up to the warm fireplace, or go there on a busy weekend and catch some of London’s best up-and-coming dizzying the decks with delicious dance beats. Bar Vinyl offers their customers a different DJ every night of the week. Prospective DJs can visit the website or speak to the manager about handing in a demo. This bar, you see, is all about engaging with their clientele through those much loved things of food, music and the good times. If you’re hungry, you can catch an all day breakfast, a pizza or another main meal, or you can get there between 5pm and 7pm any evening of the week for happy hour. The last time I did, I met two people who still remain good friends.

Pretty cool bar in heart of Camden Town. Music is always loud so maybe not the best place to go for a quiet chat but not a bad place to go on a date when you’re not really interested in talking Lively, fun, usual prices and a nicely mixed crowd.

Vinyl is remarkably unremarkable. There is, quite literally, absolutely nothing to distinguish it from any other utterly featureless bar — and in this respect it is unique. I mean, how many people do you know who are actually named John Smith? The food is alright. The drinks are ok. The bar staff are inoffensive. The music doesn’t make you cry. If you’re planning a big night out in Camden, Inverness Street is always a good place to start — and Bar Vinyl is as good a place for that first drink as any.

A record store and a bar at the same time, this quiet place is much appreciated by people in their twenties and thirties. I personnally enjoy its stylish and old school style. Last but not least, You can eat for less than £10 PS: from Wednesday to Sunday night, a DJ is here to entertain the crowd.

I love it in here. Its fun, its fresh and its funky. During the day the basement is a record shop. At night bar vinyl represents what Camden is really about, fun, funky and cool. The music is a mix of hip hop and weird and wonderful soulful tunes. The place has been newly renovated and there are records encased in the table. How cool!

Bar Vinyl is my Bar Story. Ideal stop-by before or after a weekend stroll up and down Camden High. Colourful furniture and trendy-cosy atmosphere, simple but delectable food and vinyls of course: collectors or casual enthusiasts should go check out their downstairs shop. And urban art photographers or painters can showcase on their walls. It’s got all your spirit and lager, but best of all is that they won’t incite you to cold drunkenness and will serve you a hot drink after 8pm if you fancy it.
