Funny bouncers. At first, I did not find it overly amusing that they wanted to check my ID. It was so cold and I just wanted to go in and sit down. Then they joked how my Canadian driver’s license was not valid because it doesn’t have a shiny reflector symbol over my picture.
Besides that, you can’t go wrong with their 2 for 1 happy hour drinks! We came in on a Sunday night. It wasn’t very busy and got drinks pretty much instantly. The servers were very friendly.

Young. Noisy. Cheap cocktails… and it’s open late. The cocktails aren’t particularly strong or all the well made, but in return they aren’t very expensive either. Then again, I don’t think this is a bar where you come to sit down and enjoy cocktails while you discuss world politics, it’s a place to drink them down quick to get brave enough to go dance with that hot girl at the end of the bar doing exactly the same thing… the crowd is quite young, with most being in their early 20’s. Can get quite rowdy. But that’s exactly what makes it so much fun!

I’m pretty much a regular of B@1 as I just love their happy hour 2 for 1 cocktails that are from 5pm to 8pm (however you can download the app which allows you to extend it for an hour). They have massive variety when it comes to cocktails with a booklet for a menu. The staff are very friendly and chatty and they really seem to know their stuff (I guess they have to). As you go inside it can seem a bit small and dingy as the bar is very low lit and tables only have a candle but the atmosphere is really good and the music is really good too. Friendly staff, good music and good drink, what more could you want from a bar?
The only downside of their happy hour is that you have to buy two of the same cocktails but it’s OK if you’re going with a friend as you can just swap.

A nice enough cocktail bar where they have no idea how to make cocktails. Seriously terrible drinks. My Pisco sour was in a champagne glass and doused in so much nutmeg that I couldn’t taste anything else. My margarita was utterly pointless. And small, too. When I questioned why the drinks were so small (barely coming up to over half of the glass) I was told that all cocktails were served like that. Utter rubbish.
The staff were friendly enough, but I have never seen a bunch of people so underwhelmed with their drinks. One out of eight was a winner so it certainly wasn’t a one off. Unfortunately for Be At One, I won’t be going to any of their bars across London again.

Give the BOGOF deal a go during the week and it isn’t quite so busy. Great way of enjoying some very well made cocktails for a good price in this funky little bar. Outside of those times, a little pricey but perfect for a break from the pub!

the cocktails are great, but even at 2 for 1 prices I had an expensive night
