Beaucatcher is perfect for a reasonably priced wash, cut and blow-dry. The staff are friendly and if you get the right stylist they won’t over-talk(a pet hate of mine). Sadly I lost the card with the stylists name who I had the best experience with so have been just hoping to get lucky every time since then. I am not sure I would come here for any highlights given my friend’s issues in the past, however when we have had issues the salon has resolved them without fuss and with apologies. The shop front is a beautiful and in the summer you can have coffee in the courtyard outside if you arrive early enough.

beautiful décor, really friendly people when I went in. the haircut was not bad, but when I went back to have my highlights, they turned out not like I wanted them in the first place, even though I had explained thoroughly and £50 more expensive than the initial quote! A very expensive hairdresser and would only recommend the cut as they didn’t do a good job with my colour and they underquoted me in quite a substancial amount. UPDATEONREVIEW12th of march 2013: When I emailed the salon explaining my distress with the hair colour and how the hairdresser had completely misregarded the photos I brought with me to show what I wanted done I had a succession of patronising and rude emails from them. I had the £50 they overcharged me with refunded, but in no circumstance did I get an apology or a sympathetic approach, nor did they offered to fix the mess they made in the first place. I even heard ‘what is done, is done’ about this mistake The worst hairdressing experience of my life and the worst complaint handling/customer service I have ever expected. I went in there because I am a local and I wanted to support local businesses, but really advise against it after a pretty horrendous experience when I decided to express that I was gutted that they ruined my colour.

I’ve been here once for a cut and a blow dry and I found the staff and the environment very warm and friendly. I was well looked after by the hair washer, who gave me a lovely massage, and the hairstylist was friendly but not too animated(which is a pet hate of mine, I don’t need to talk ALL the time). The décor is French and feminine with antique furniture and there was alternative music playing which was a nice change to other salons I’ve been in. The overall result was good, but not the greatest haircut I’ve ever had. However, the price is great, so it’s a little bit of a trade off.

This salon is a friendly local place, which appeared to be supported by a lot of local, regular customers. I went for a haircut a little while ago and a russian girl(apologies — I’ve forgotten her name of now), cut my hair. She did a fairly good job, but I wasn’t completely satisfied with my overall experience — I felt I had to justify where I’d had my hair cut previously to her after I was questionned quite closely and it made me feel quite uncomfortable. I was told the hairdresser I’d seen previously hadn’t done a good job and I shouldn’t go back to the last salon I’d used. I can appreciate stylists wanting to promote their own work and salon, but I never think slating other people’s work leaves a good reflection on you or your service! I’d not been to the salon before, but had walked past it on Church Street many times and was drawn by the creative interior of old, french antique furniture and warm green frontage. The salon itself has a really unique fairytale feel and Maryna(who I believe owns the salon?) and her team do a good job of making you feel welcome, but for me, if the haircut had been superb, I would have dismissed the comments about my previous choice of hairdressers, but to be honest, the cut just fairly good and no more. Reasonably priced and really convenient if you live near to N16. I’m really sad to say this about a local salon as I really wanted to support local business’ on Church St, but I’m not sure I’d spend my money here again
