Delicious English Breakfast with an American Homestyle feel and English café flair. Excellent service with little to no queue,(wait to be seated, here in London). Bill’s is a charming restaurant(both in the NJ/NYC and London called a greasy spoon) in London’s Piccadilly Circus. Here you will find a large variety of English fare from my favorite English breakfast to dinner, pastries and puddings. Plus a variety of drinks to tempt the taste buds. When visiting Piccadilly Circus be sure to check out Bill’s. And if your an American on holiday, and crave a little of home. Bill’s will make you feel like your back in a trendy NYC breakfast café.

Sadly although the food was nice the whole dining experience was marred by the policy of the restaurant not to allow one of my friends to enjoy a glass of wine without ordering a starter at least. When we explained she had already eaten this was met by the staff being rude enough to say that she would have to order or leave. My friend had to leave as the manager Alison refused to budge on this. There was another person in the restaurant sitting on his own for 25 minutes with a glass of wine and no offer of a menu for food. How can this happen? Had to email them to register my disgust. very disappointed. Mary Scott

This is solely a review of Bill’s comparatively inexpensive afternoon tea. £9.95 for an afternoon is without a doubt the least expensive afternoon tea I have seen in London. This is what drew me to Bill’s. This, and the cosy candlelit tables framed by retro interiors which I had seen so many times when just passing by. I took my mum and boyfriend here for a treat after New Year. The tea came served in big pots. No leaf tea in sight, just bagged earl grey, but it was fine for the price. I was pleased to see the traditional three-tier cake stands, one for me as the vegetarian, the other two my boyfriend and mum shared. The lower tier was occupied by the finger sandwiches, the middle tier had some interesting cake offerings and upon the top tier rested a couple of traditional scones with clotted cream and jam. We slowly worked our way up. The cream cheese was very fresh and generously spread, but we all agreed that there were too few savoury options, especially after having gorged ourself on the sweet offerings. The aesthetically-pleasing strawberry cream tart was a little on the bland side, whilst the raspberry almond cake was deliciously moist and tart. The scones were just fine. For the price you get the experience and probably diabetes. This is a decent place to have a traditional afternoon tea, but I have learned from the experience: 1.) That I don’t have the sweet tooth I thought I did. 2.) That I don’t really like afternoon teas. If you have to try the afternoon tea before you leave London and don’t have the money to throw at one of those sterile, hotel affairs, this might be your ticket. Also, if you do appreciate afternoon tea you will probably quite like this one.

My favorite chain in London. I try to mix it up when I’m there but when I’m not feeling like being adventurous and need something good to eat with consistently good quality I look for Bill’s.

Visited 2 times while on vacation in London — both great experiences. Had a mix of veg, vegan, and meat-lover dishes(Hard to find a kale salad here… Or a salad in general). Location, service and food were awesome.

Had brunch here on Saturday, very accommodating of my very active toddler and I! Nice and affordable kids menu — bonus. Had Eggs Royale, delicious but quite pricey for portion size. Friendly staff and nice atmosphere, would recommend.

Our last day in London started out on the early side, and one thing I’ve learned about London, is that coffee shops and breakfast places are not open for us early risers. Most places don’t open till 9:00 a.m. or later! Luckily, we found out about Bill’s the night before. This place is a gem among the Soho restaurant scene. Breakfast at Bill’s goes anywhere from a basket of toast and pastries with butter and three different jams, to pancakes with strawberries and bananas, to full English plates and various egg dishes, and there are plenty of options for vegetarians. The place is funky and fabulous on the inside with a décor, which must be seen to be appreciated. The music went from Reggie, to Memphis Blues, to Jazz without blinking an eye. The servers were friendly, funny, and at times entertaining as the got down to the funky music. There is no London pretension here, only great food, and great service. If you’re an early morning person and are up for some fantastic food, get down to Bill’s. One word of warning, they get busy and stay busy, so make a reservation. Nice find on our vacation in London! Prime location. Good food and service! We had lamb koftas and pen fried seabass, English tea(they serve it in a big pot), strawberry eton mess for desert, everything was tasty! Service was wonderful! Would recommend and come back.

We came here right after our flight landed in Heathrow. Our check in for our apartment was supposed to be at 1PM, however it was delayed until 2PM and we wanted to kill some time and head somewhere but wanted to make sure that they could accommodate us with all of the luggage that we had. We walked into Bill’s and they found a perfect table for us in the back where we could leave our luggage next to us without it being in the way of anybody elses table. We ordered the tortilla chips that came with tzatziki, guacamole, and salsa. It was around £3 but the portion was fairly small for 6 of us, probably should have ordered another one. I ordered the BBQ pork ribs which tasted very good, quite messy but expected. Our waitress was very nice and the staff was very accommodating as well.

Went here today for lunch with the girls and our kiddies. The waitress was lovely friendly and attentive. Our dishes came promptly and pretty much together. No waiting for 10 mins for your friend to be served whilst you eat. I ordered seabass I found the portion to be small and lacked any real flavour I wasn’t left impressed with the dish at all. My daughter had a bowl of pasta from the kids meal it was huge — she loved it. She has a dairy intolerance so it was really nice when the waitress gave her 3 huge pieces of sliced watermelon(we had a smootie and she saw my daughter had ravished the watermelon on the side) and sorbet for her dessert at no extra charge. My friends had the burger which looked lush I would definately go back and next time probably order that. Overall it was a pleasant afternoon. Thank you :)

Wow! What an amazing place! I’m normally very fed up with burgers, have had it too much lately. But fell for it again and orders their Bill Burger with bacon and cheese. Wow! That was the best burger in the world! If you go here you have to get it!!!

Gran lugar en el Soho, abierto hasta la medianoche de jueves a sábado. Tiene un menú variado, aunque su especialidad son las hamburguesas. Genial para venir con grupos. Recomendable llegar temprano. Siempre está lleno.

Cool, rustic décor with a delicious breakfast menu. Had the eggs royale(Benedict with salmon) and my friend had Bill’s breakfast(big English breakfast plate). Coffee was top. Would totally come back. Great place for breakfast or brunch in Soho.

Since Bill’s is a chain restaurant(I’m a food snob), I was a bit skeptical at first but since every other place in SOHO has at least a one hour wait, we decided to just eat here as we were starving after a 9 – 10 hour flight from San Diego. We got seated right away after being greeted by the host. It was still pretty packed inside, with a good mixture of locals and tourists. Anyhow, it’s got a bit of a hip ambiance along with minimalistic décor inside. Seems like they have a small little section dedicated to retail sales as well(we sat right next to the shelf) for some of their condiments, etc. I’m a fan of shepherd’s pie. And I am also a huge fan of duck. They happened to have a special that night with duck stuffed inside the pie. Double whammy! The portion was just right and didn’t overstuff my belly. We also tried their chicken skewers, which came with a side of bread and some basmati rice underneath. The skewer was cooked alright as there could have been a little more flavor to be added. The carbs helped fill us up though. If you’re looking for a quick fix just to get your stomach satisfied then you’ll be okay here. But for the prices you’re paying for each entrée, you are much better off going to a better restaurant around the area.

I’ve seen a lot of Bill’s since I arrived in London, but I was always reticent to try it, because it’s a restaurant chain. But what isn’t in London, right ? Finally, I gave it a try for brunch and it was a nice surprise ! My brother had the Full english breakfast while I ordered the pancakes with extra bacon. And if you think that nobody can go wrong with pancakes, trust me, I ate some pretty disappointing pancakes in London. But here, the pancakes were really good, the bacon crispy and I got my extra maple syrup really quick after I asked for it: the waitress was really nice and always available. We also tried the chocolate brownie milkshale and it was heaven ! I will definitely go back, especially if all the Bill’s in London are this nice :)

We came here last night for a quick bite before a show. I’ve always thought of Bill’s as quite a laid back place so didn’t think to ask if it would be fine for me to have a full meal and for my friend to just have some bread and olives. However, turns out they only have a license for it you order full meals(or a starter each) We had already ordered our drinks and the waitress was quite rude about it but the manager came over and sorted it straight away offering us a mezze on the house, which was so delicious we ordered another. Seriously olives the size of apples! Was impressed by her quick thinking and sorting of a tricky situation. However, one gripe: the candlelit dinner for two is a great deal but why no veggie option?

We’ve been here for breakfast and dinner and the food is excellent. The menu is pretty full, so it’s hard to believe they do everything so well. They serve bottled beer, wine and cocktails. They have many traditional English dishes such as fish and chips w/mushy peas, as well as more American style dishes featuring avocados and other fresh ingredient. Service is excellent and we love the home style atmosphere. Give Bill’s a try. You’ll love it.

Music’s good. Interior is nice. Cod sandwich was good. Now to the service. Waiter spilled water and used my napkin to wipe it but didn’t bring a new one. No big deal. Then he completely forgot my friend’s tea. Never arrived. We waited for a good 20min for very basic dishes, i.e. sandwiches, salad and curry. The salad was a disgrace. I’m vegan so the avocado, spinach salad(without bacon or cheese) was recommended to me. What I got was bare spinach and a couple of overripe pieces of avocado thrown together(don’t forget I waited 20mins for it). I paid £9 for this. I kinda feel disrespected actually. My friend’s chicken curry was basically a children’s portion(this is coming from a fellow European). Service was bad.

I’ll start by saying I have reviewed a different Bill’s and gave it a pretty crap rating. I never planned on returning to any of their branches but a friend wanted to meet up there and I obliged. The actual restaurant is laid out nicely, the décor and set up of the restaurant is pleasant though you do end up sitting very close to the table next to you. Their breakfast menu is pretty standard and they seem to use free range eggs which is good. I ordered eggs florentine with gluten free bread and the hollandaise on the side and my friend ordered the eggs royale. It came out reasonably quickly yet for some reason was already reasonably cold. The hollandaise was the consistency of butter and the spinach looked like it had been blended and mashed… and there was so much of it it was overwhelming. Fresh spinach would’ve done fine!!! The eggs were nicely cooked though, to their credit. The gluten free bread was okay too. The staff almost to the point of annoying. They checked every two minutes if everything was okay and if we needed anything else, it was a bit much when we were trying to have a conversation and it was literally every two minutes! After they took my plate away they did come back and asked what was wrong with the spinach as I hadn’t eaten it. When I said i wasn’t that much of a spinach person they said… well you did order a spinach dish. Yes, but I didn’t expect it to look like it’d been chewed and thrown up again! I guess me and Bill’s just ain’t going to have a love affair. I find it very sub-par.

I don’t know why this place has a four star. Food was just mediocre at best. I got the big breakfast with side of crispy potatoes, which i think costed me £9.50. It was meh. The scrambled eggs were overcooked, the crispy potatoes were more like mashed potatoes with crusty skin, and the toast was forgettable. I can’t even remember what else was on the plate. I also got the super green smoothie, which was good but a bit small for £3.50. I don’t know, is it normal in London? I am not local so i probably shouldn’t compare size to price because everything seems pricey here to me compared to singapore. All around i was just not impressed with them. I liked my meal at The Breakfast Club a lot more.
