A riverside pub in Kingston Upon Thames. Very nice at lunchtime with a good selection of food which is about and average price. It is fairly sedate and relaxing. However it does change in the evening when it attracts more of the younger element and it can get a lot more noisy especially on Friday and Saturday evenings.

Not much to look at from the street but go round the corner to the pub’s riverside terrace and you’ll realise why this pub’s a winner. The menu’s okay(I had a burger and was satisfied enough), service is hardworking and friendly and beer is of the Young’s variety. 100% nestled in the not bad category with a nudge up to the pretty good category if strolling along the Thames on a sunny day, The Bishop-out-of-Residence is one to keep in mind when you want to have a few pints, soak up some rays and enjoy the pretty river view.

I love coming here for any occasion, because there is a good vibe and good service to match. The strawberry tequillas are scrumptious! It’s cosy in winter and gorgeous in summer.

A charming pub on the Thames riverfront, this has been recently refurbished with a slightly olde-worlde slant. Old-fashioned armchairs are nearest to the windows on the ground floor, with plenty of tables and chairs to fit a huge crowd of people in — with more room upstairs and outside, where you can spend many a happy hour nursing a drink on a summer’s day watching the boats and swans sail past on their way up the river to Hampton Court Palace. I’ve only ever visited this pub at lunchtime and have always found the service to be excellent — it is table service, too, so you can relax and watch the world go by while everything gets brought to you. Prices are distinctly average and so are the food and drink(‘tho if you order a burger, you get an enormous plate-full of food!). The fish and chips wasn’t a bad dealeither, although the chips could have done with another 4 minutes in the fat-fryer as they were a little … err … crunchy! The draw of this place is comfy seating, room to breath and a fabulous view across the Thames … super!
