Just tried this quaint little dessert place and it’s lovely. The décor is very chic and the staff are polite and friendly. The passion fruit sorbet was delicious — not overly sweet or sour with the right amount of tangy that was just delightfully refreshing. My only qualms is with the very low tables which made eating a little bit uncomfortable having to slouch forward. Still, would definitely go back sometime.

No one ponders icecream at 4pm on a December afternoon(although a surprising number of customers were), and I thought– why not try the coffee? First sip… Wow… Deep and rich and yet again that slight coconut undercurrent that I encountered in Chapters Full review

I like the fact that this is an independent shop, and I like their style. Some of the ice cream is delicious, some less so. The flavours are patchy. Coffee, tiramisu, pistachio, and lemon sorbet are great. Fruits of the forest and whatever they call the one with bits of crunchy bar in it, less so, with rather ‘fake’ flavourings. The cupcakes look a bit sad and lonely — six or so in a glass counter case rather than a plentiful, cheerful display, so I’ve never tried them, and my coffee geek husband says the coffee comes from a decent roaster but the staff don’t bring out the best from the beans. I wouldn’t know as I don’t drink coffee, and I certainly see plenty of people getting their caffeine there. Also lots of mothers with small children having after-school treats(they do small portions on request). It’s not cheap(£3.50 for two scoops), but nowhere is and I don’t begrudge the price. It’s local, it’s nice, it’s independent, and some of the ices are super. Just be careful to go for the more straightforward flavours. They have another branch in Greenwich.

I like Gelato, I’m a big fan of ‘Scoop’, but as I was in Greenwich(having spent the afternoon in the National Maritime Museum with the missus), we decide to treat ourselves to something sweet. Lo and Behold ‘Black Vanilla’, specialists in both Gelato and Sorbetto. Everything is freshly made, and there’s a large choice of flavours which apparently change on a daily basis. Unfortunately my usual favourite(Bronte Pistachio) is more expensive here than the other flavours. I resent paying more, so decide to try something different. We try the Tiramisu and Salted Caramel, both are good, but the Salted Caramel is the clear winner. Worth a visit if you’re ever in Greenwich.

A welcome addition to Blackheath village. I’m now always tempted to drop in whenever I’m passing by. Really interesting ice-cream flavours it’s great to be able to get a quality treat so locally.

This is a lovely small cupcake and ice cream place in Blackheath. There is a little seating, but more than about three groups already inside and you’d be a bit out of luck. They do drinks but I must admit I haven’t tried them so I can’t speak for the quality — but I’m reliably informed that they do decaf. I dropped in here on the way home with my mother while visiting my parents(on her recommendation!) in order to pick up some cupcakes to take back for dessert after dinner. We chose chocolate, caramel, and carrot. All of them turned out to be pretty tasty, but didn’t(to me) taste as scrumptious as Hummingbird Bakery cupcakes. I think its because the icing here is stiffer! But! The ice cream offerings looked so delicious that we stopped to have a cone each. We ordered small cones, but there was such a lot of ice cream on them that I’d have been happy to call them medium or even large, and they were absolutely delicious. My mother had rhubarb and custard flavour — she reported it as being excellent — and I had a marsala and… I think caramel? flavour that was absolutely delicious. I can’t wait to return and try out more flavours. Particularly since they’ll give you a spoonful to try before you buy! Thoroughly recommended. :)
