I believe they are a restaurant to a hotel– so they’re on the pricey side. I was a tourist in London and didn’t find any restaurants in the neighborhood until I ran into the Blue Boar. Luckily, the food was good. I ordered a soup for an appetizer and a burger for my main course. The service was really good. Everyone seemed really friendly and genuinely glad we were there. If I’m ever back in London I’d probably go back.

Awful Service! Nice looking place but wait staff completely blamed kitchen for a botched order, and then shrugged their shoulders. Food is just okay — but the overall experience makes it not worth coming to. Be prepared to wait a long time for your food.

The environment is great and very popular. The presentation of our fish and chips was above average. The beer was very descent as well.

Insanely overpriced. 44GBP for two cocktails(vodka on the rocks and a rum & coke). The bartender was very nice but nothing can make up for the robbery in pricing.

Good cocktails and impressed with the service very friendly. One drawback which was unfortunate was a mouldy piece of fruit in the cocktail, however dealt with extremely professionally and would happily recommend the service still. Unlucky more than poor cocktails in that account. However at £14 a cocktail I expect it not to happen really, but will let them off due to the good way it was handled.

We really enjoyed this upscale pub. As we walked up to this pub we saw lots of business suit wearing customers and we were a little worried about my jeans and Polo shirt. It was just the after work crowd. We were greeted warmly and given a prime table near the front windows. This is a very nicely decorated place. Looks very new, bright and the front is all windows. I had a very good homemade soup of the day and braised Ox cheek. My girlfriend had the chicken in a basket. Which is a half fried chicken and chips. It was cooked perfectly. A little warning though, it was quite spicy. My girlfriend said that her lips were burning. My Ox cheek was very good and so tender. They gave me a steak knife to cut it with but I just pulled it apart with my fork. It tasted better than the best pot roast that I have ever had. I can highly recommend this restaurant. Something to keep in mind is, that culturally they are not quick to bring you the bill even if they know that you have finished. They don’t want anyone to think that they are rushing you out of the restaurant. So you may have to flag them down and specifically ask for the check. They are not trying to be rude.

Fantastic location, even better drinks. Had the opportunity to try the Blue Boar while staying at the Conrad on vacation. The inside was new and refreshing. The wait staff were superb. The Blue Boar caters to the after work crowd and is decorated with various political caricatures. We brought our daughter for a glass of lemonade while we waited for our taxi to Paddington(she was the only child in the location). Carlos, the manager, drew pictures with my daughter and magically appeared with a box of crayons to color in the pictures. If you want to impress a five year old bring her a box of crayons. This is a great location and I highly recommend it to anyone that is fortunate enough to find themselves in Westminster.

Okay. As a diamond Hilton honors person I am truly embarrassed that such a bar would be part of such an amazing Hilton property. The hotel and it’s staff is amazing with great service in every way. The blue boar bar is crap! I had to just about tackle the server to get our order in. Then they sat on the order while the bar tender cleaned glasses. I got a shot of scotch that was so small I needed my glasses to see it. After I was done four waiters walked by and No-one asked me if I wanted another glass. The couple that sat next to me had the same horrible experience. At one point he said«is like they are going out of their way to give horrible service!» Stay away!

Don’t waste your time… Terrible service beyond anything I have ever seen and it is extremely over priced. Food menu is below par and staff is horrendous… Don’t waste your money or time honestly. You’ll find a better experience, drinks and food at a local McDonalds.

Worst service ever… Sat down, no waiter ever came. Had to request menus and to order. The waiter never checked up on our meal. The food was below average. Cool, traditional environment… But thats all they having going for them. Clearly miss managed.

My family and I had a very good lunch today here in the pub, and I was pleasantly surprised. Based upon the reviews from customers, I was expecting mediocre food and service. My family and I are visiting London for vacation and we are staying at the St. Ermins hotel. We wanted to have a very late lunch someplace convenient as I had twisted my ankle yesterday and couldn’t walk very far. The Blue Boar is located in the Conrad Hotel on the first floor. It’s quite stylish, as it has dark paneling and a beautiful bar. My daughter had the club sandwich with chips and my husband and I had a burger and fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and on a bun that was outstanding, and my daughter loved the sandwich as well. My husband also had a local London craft beer on draft and I had a glass of Australian Shiraz. Overall, the service was friendly and efficient, and the total bill was £63, so quite pricey

I’d been looking forward to lunch at The Blue Boar(I walk past it every day), and was not disappointed by the interior which was clean, slightly corporate but nice. We ate in the restaurant part out the back, but unfortunately the food was less than spectacular. I had the burger, and the best part of it was the toasted bun(brioche). The burger meat reminded me of something like GBK, not cheap but cheerful. The chips were thin-cut and sparse, served in a metal dish which conducted away their heat. There wasn’t anything to complain about, but nothing to shout about either. One of my companions had the sea bass, which got better feedback. I ended on sticky toffee pudding, and found it very rich(but not overwhelmingly so), and the honeycomb ice cream went well with it. In all, the food was perfectly edible, but for the price and the availability of the Caxton Grill 2 minutes up the road, not somewhere I can recommend.

Went for a late dinner, and didn’t feel like wandering out so we hit the hotel restaurant I had a burger and the mushroom Mac n cheese. The burger was very good and the mac n cheese was okay. It sounded good with mushrooms, but there were too many of them and they were too large(should have been diced). Service was good, and the prices were good considering it was in the hotel. It worked in a pinch, and I would go there again under the same circumstances. On a separate note, I ordered the club sandwich from room service on a separate night, which comes out of the Blue Boar kitchen, and that was outstanding.

I’ve hung out at the bar area of the Blue Boar at least two or three times in the evening with my co-workers. It’s a very nice, upscale bar, with a good atmosphere for chatting, but it’s incredibly expensive for drinks. I’m not a huge fan of some of the décor, though, like the lamps made of cowboy boots. But some areas aren’t too bad; you’ll find a lot of nooks and crannies in the various tables and seating available. Go for it if you don’t mind the price and it’s your taste.

I was on a mission to impress a date, and was given the task of booking a brunch venue(seems my foodie knowledge was being put to the test). After researching a number of restaurants and getting suggestions from fellow Unilocalers, I decided on this one because the mains featured a wide selection of BBQ meats, fish and other goodies(rather than the usual standard breakfast fare). At £35/person, I thought this was a great choice for a boozy brunch. The oak interior was quite posh and classy, the seafood was served on top of a carved ice sculpture, and our mains were served on silver platters. I’ve never felt so classy eating beans out of a silver cup! The unlimited Bucks Fizz and Bloody Marys(yep, unlimited) sat on a separate drink table, and you can get as many as you’d like. I think I went through 4, which was enough for me. Off on the side was a buffet display of assorted of salads, chilled seafood(mussels, clams, prawns, smoked salmon), terrine, charcuterie, nuts and pickles, dips and condiments, though I was looking forward to their caesar salad station, which wasn’t set up. Not sure why… not that big of on issue, as I thoroughly enjoyed everything else they had to offer. I think my favorite was the smoked chicken and crème fraîche salad, and the chilled prawns. After feasting your eyes on the appetizers, keep in mind that a full-size main dish is still being prepared in the kitchen, so don’t fill up too much on all the goodies. The main dishes featured a number of American BBQ smoked meats(ribs, pulled pork, burger, etc), fish, eggs benny and 2 vegetarian options. I opted for the pulled pork, and my date went for the burger(the waitress did say that the ribs were very popular). The pulled pork arrived on a silver platter, with a side of beans in a cup, sauce on the side, and 2 freshly baked thyme rolls. The pork was nice and tender but dry in the sense that it wasn’t basking in any sauce. It wasn’t as smokey as it could have been, I’ve definitely had better, but was still a decent dish. As much as I do like pulled pork, this isn’t something I can eat a whole lot of, I usually can’t handle too much smokey meat, especially when lots of other food is involved. In hindsight, this was clearly the wrong choice for me, especially during the lunch hour, and probably would have gone for the sea bass, eggs benny, or the roast. I’m sure if I asked nicely, the waitress would have given me a different dish, but I didn’t want to bother her. My date finished off most of his burger. I tried a bite, but to be honest, I was too full to pay much attention to it! I like my patties cooked medium rare so its nice and juicy, but I *think* the patty was well done. If burgers are your thing, then by all means you should try it, but I think there are several other burger establishments which serve up a meaner burger. With whatever room we had left, we rolled on over to the dessert table, which was splashed with 3 – 4 different types of macarons, cakes, tarts, elderflower crème brûlée, strawberry mousse, GIANT meringues with assorted fruits… I can’t remember it all, but there’s something for everyone, especially if you have a sweet tooth. Overall, I had a fantastic time at the restaurant, the servers were nice, but the highlight really was the guy playing his guitar and singing at the entrance of the restaurant. It was seriously a nice surprise, and I kept getting distracted by all the songs he kept playing. He takes requests too! At £35/person for an unlimited boozy brunch with some great music on the side, I say this is a win.

For me brunch means breakfast and lunch foods mixed with copious amounts of booze. So when I find a place that advertises brunch with unlimited Bloody Marys and Mimosas(that’s Buck’s Fizz to you Brits), I’m willing to give it a go. When I booked it, it was £50 per person, but they lowered the price recently to £35. Which was really an added bonus. I don’t know if it’s a permanent change, but it’s well worth the price either way. We were slightly concerned showing up that the«unlimited» wouldn’t be as unlimited as we often like(you know, so you’re drinking enough for two), but we were pleasantly surprised when we saw the drinks were sitting near the buffet to be picked up whenever you wanted another one. That’s a +1 star right there! Also on the way in there was a man playing soft rock and hits from Glee on his guitar which really added a special feeling to the day(especially when you’ve had enough booze to start singing along). How it works: There is a buffet set up with salads, shellfish and meats. There were five pre-made salads and a «make-your-own» caesar salad station.(Which sounds and looks cool, but it’s a lot of work, I’d probably prefer having a premade caesar for ease.) Most of the stuff on the buffet was pretty awesome, especially the sliced meats available. There were also plenty of prawns and cold shellfish to go around. Once you’re full up on the buffet, they bring you rmains around. You’ve ordered these when you’ve arrived with a few sides to share. Now you’re quite full, but you tuck in anyway because the food is fantastic. I had the trio of eggs. Basically three different egg benedicts. And they were all tasty. But I couldn’t finish. The smokehouse does barbeque, so two people ordered that. There was a pulled pork(which looked fantastic) and these amazingly delicious smoked pork ribs served in a silver bucket(I tried one, and they were luscious.) The next table over had the roast(which that day was beef) and it was served perfectly medium rare and also looked fantastic. At this point you’ve had a lot to drink and eat and you’re stuffed. But there’s an entire table of desserts as well. With things ranging from macarons to cheesecakes to chocolate pots and crème brûlée. There are so many desserts and they look so amazing that you want to try them all. But you’re stuffed. But you try anyway. And many of them are good. They weren’t all amazing(even if they look it) which is probably why it only gets four stars. Will I be back? Yes most definitely. I might even try it for dinner. The barbeque was amazing, even if it was served in a place that looked way too upscale to be serving ribs and pulled pork.

Where I come from, BBQ is served on wax paper. In an unremarkable building. With sawdust on the floor, more likely than not. Blue Boar is quite the opposite. Imagine swank interiors with random bronze sculptures. A wine chiller ice sculpture. Copious amounts of ribs served in a silver bucket. It should in every way offend my delicate Texan sensibilities. But it doesn’t. Because it is awesome. I went to Blue Boar for the Sunday brunch. £35 per person with unlimited Bucks Fizz or Bloody Marys. What?! And there’s a starter bar loaded with various salads, fresh seafood, meat platters, etc. And then you get to pick a main and various sides to go with. ANDTHEN there’s a dessert bar where if you have any room(you won’t have room, but you’ll stuff some dessert in there anyway) you can sample loads of different items. The highlights for me were the smoked chicken and granny smith apple salad they had on the starter bar, the chunky chips, which were so fluffy on the inside yet crisp on the outside, and a sampled rib which I didn’t order, but which I snagged out of my friend’s silver bucket. Sadly, my main, the meatloaf with fried egg, was, compared to everyone else’s mains, a pretty sad affair. Imagine a tiny slab of spam, fried in a pan with an overdone egg. Just a major downer after all the other awesomeness and all the lovely mains my cohorts had in front of them. But! Still amazing value, really good food(meatloaf aside), and a bedazzled gentleman with a guitar regaling us with the best of glee and soft rock hits for 2.5 hours? I’m sold.
