Going to Blue Pacific is like going to the restaurant owned by Kung Fu Panda’s dad in terms of service. The waiter is a sweet little man who is really anxious to please and since we went at 12 when it opens, we had his full attention before anyone else got there. He tried so hard to make us happy and was so friendly that we couldn’t help smiling and enjoying ourselves. The manager was also equally nice and kindly let me charge my laptop here. We started with the sesame prawn toast which was fantastic. The sesame coating was very generous and the ratio of sesame to delicious prawn to toast was perfection. I would come back for this! We also had the chicken corn soup which was decent on a rainy afternoon, but a bit too sweet for me perhaps. I like my savoury food without sweetness(no sweet and sour for me) so my opinion is a little niche sometimes. The sizzling beef with pepper sauce was also too sweet for me, although it came as described, sizzling for all it was worth and looking good. I think it was good quality food though, I would just order something less sweet next time and I will be happy. I liked the Singapore noodles with chicken which were a little smoky almost. The buttered prawn my husband ordered for his prawn fix was a little hard to break past the shell(perhaps I need lessons?) but what was inside was good. Basically, Blue Pacific is not going to blow your mind but it is decent chinese food for a reasonable price, which I have not found everywhere in London. The one right near my place here is overpriced and not great. Good chinese seemed so ubiquitous in DC where I used to live that I didn’t realise it’s not that easy to find everywhere. I have missed having a Chinese takeaway nearby that I could depend on, and I think this could be a contender. This place has got my interest and I’m definitely going back to do a little more research:)
