BottleDog King’s Cross

I’ve been here fewer than five times, but on my most recent visit I really came to appreciate this place. The selection here is fantastic. Loads of UK stuff, with an emphasis on BrewDog (obviously), along with London breweries. Solid range of Scandinavian and Belgian wares. The staff is friendly and I’m sure they would be eager to help (I’ve never asked). Some of the beers are very fairly priced, while others are a bit dear. All the beers are neatly laid out for browsing, and a lot of the beers are kept in fridges.
There really aren’t that many great bottle outlets in central London, and the fact that this one is so good in absolute terms means that it really blows away anything else in relative terms. Certainly worth checking out if you are in town.

There’s more to Brewdog than their flagship Punk IPA (which itself is a good beer) and at Bottledog has loads of selections not just from their brewery but others such as Beavertown, Anchor and Fourpure.
Customers can even have beer filled up in their own kegs from the taps on shop which do change every so often. The staff there are knowledgable and friendly at the same time.
If you love your craft beers then make Bottledog on your to do list.

I hope they do more after hours events or tie ups with food pop ups too. Couldn’t think of anything better.

My new favorite place.
I went to Bottle Dog yesterday to acquire supplies for a beer-​tasting event I was running. I had some broad categories that I wanted to cover, but was open to suggestions for specific beers within those.
I’ve already forgotten the name of the employee who helped me (Kai? maybe?), but he was great. He had good suggestions, interesting info and backstories on beers and brewers, boxes to package everything up, and time to help me select and load out to a car. And a great attitude to boot, which is surprisingly rare in good beer stores.
I won’t name any names, but if you go into a couple of NYC beer nerd stores and try to have a civilized discussion about anything beer-​related, it very quickly degenerates into a ****-measuring contest. If you haven’t personally brewed with one of the evil twins, you’re nobody.
Not so in this laid back establishment. Just a great selection of London-​area craft brews along with some Belgians and a few Americans, reasonable prices, and helpful people. Plus brewing supplies, which I’ll have to come back to check out.

«One thing led to another…». I always got a lot of enjoyment out reading ridiculous stories in Dear Deidre, but never quite understood how «before I knew it, we were doing xyz». Well, now I do. I popped into Bottle Dog to buy ¾ beers and ended up with 7, including some special editions. This is in spite of the massive option paralysis I get when faced with so many tasty things.
London has needed a good bottle shop for a while. Some offies carry decent stock and I know there are places such as Utobeer, but they’re somewhat out of the way. Bottle Dog is what I’ve needed in my life… rows and rows of all sorts (loads of Imperial Stouts, essential in my life), extensive fridge space, stuff on tap for large bottles. The works. As well as good stock of both normal and special Brewdog items (just bought a Horizon Tokyo Black and a Paradox Heaven Hill), there’s a large range of beers from all over the world from Kernel Brewery to Hitichino Nest (Japan) and there’s no way I’ll get to try everything I want to here. So I should really take off a star.
The staff are super friendly and knowledgeable (as to be expected), and the prices aren’t extortionate. I mean, no, you can’t buy a £4 pack of Corona here, but I’m pretty sure the alcohol-​content-​to-​price ratio is not bad after the last haul. Looks like I’m going to be hosting a few more beer parties in future!

Finally a home brew supplies shop right in the heart of London! On first glance I did see a bunch of vacuum packed hops, grains and liquid yeast. At 10 bucks, the White labs yeast does seem to be a tad expensive, but the hops and grains were standard price, and would be a great place to pick up emergency supplies.
Oh, and they have beer too. Brewdog, Mikkeler and standard Belgian fare seem to dominate their collection. Picked up a bottle of Clown Shoes Brown Angel, after having heard more about their labels than the beer itself.
