Byron in Hoxton on a Friday night was surprisingly quiet. Could be because of our early dinner before comedy at 6.30pm, but with it being on Hoxton Square, you would expect a never ending flow of workers and residents. As I continue my burger tour, I thought it made sense to check it out as we wanted to line our stomachs prior to some laughter at Comedy Café in Rivington Street. Byron was convenient, just being 10 minutes walk away. We were one of three tables in the restaurant. Not too busy and not a problem, as I was with Bae so fancied a quiet one. Having overdosed on meat of late, I thought for once I would check out the veggie option to see how it stands up in taste to its animalistic counter parts. I ordered the grilled portobello mushroom, goats cheese, roast pepper, baby spinach, tomato, red onion and aioli burger. Though not really re-writing veg options, it was okay. It could have done with a chilli or tomato relish of sorts to give it an extra push in flavour, but I guess the focus is on the meat eaters choices. My dining companion had the double bacon cheeseburger with dry cure bacon, freddar cheese, pickles and mustard. It was a monster of a burger and from the wee bite I was allowed to have, was really tasty. Partnered with some fries, a milkshake and glass of wine, it was a pleasant little foodie trip. Hoxton Square is full of options for dining, however if you are regular in the area, definitely try this.

Delicious, but pricey when you go overboard, which it’s tricky not to do! Amazing sides and drinks offerings — we ordered WAY too much.

I’ve eaten at this place twice while on my 8 day visit for London. The 411: — The staff are quite friendly and check-up on their guest mid-meal(this seems to be quite rare with London restaurants/cafes). — The food is great… their Byron burger is heaven in my mouth. And don’t forget to try their Oreo milkshake: .God…the best milkshake I’ve had in London. — The location is great with the view of Hoxton square. Also the establishment get busy during the evenings as Shoreditch is quite a popular area for its nightlife. Definitely worth trying this place if you like burgers, mlkshakes and a lively atmosphere.

Before moving house recently this was the closest thing we had to a local pub! Ollie is a legend among servers of meat or meat substitute between two pieces of bread and most of the other staff who we have encountered, although we didn’t get to know them quite as well, were pretty awesome too. I like how easy it is to tweak your burgers at Byron to your personal taste. You don’t feel like you are being awkward substituting something that should be in your burger for something better! The seasonal specials are eagerly anticipated particularly the festive Merry Cheesemess… I mean Cheesemass. This particular Byron is extra marvellous for their selection of draught beer, although is a little pricey even by London standards(Lagunitas gives you the best ABV for your GBP and is probably the tastiest choice too). This was actually going to be a 5 star review until our visit last week(we have been back a couple of times already in the month since we moved away from the area) when we discovered they have dispensed with their ranch dressing. Ranch is not very common in the UK but the ranch that Byron make is seriously delicious. Without it our favourite options on the menu are just not quite as appealing. Without it I’m not sure how often we will go out of our way to come back here.

When most people say they are headed to their local, they are talking about a pub. Byron certainly isn’t a pub, though they do carry some nice beers(no real ale, folks). However, this is our local. We come at least once every few weeks, and typically once every two weeks. The staff does turn over quite frequently, but our favourite is a long-termer and he’s the best server I’ve had anywhere in London. Ollie, props to you, guy! He knows about my love of ranch(which is a main reason that we are in so often), and he always asks if I forget to mention to add a side of it. Since this location is right around the corner from us, we typically eat here, but the recipes are standard throughout all of the locations, and the quality is pretty similar at each. My go to meal? Chicken burger, sub ranch for the Byron Sauce with a side of Courgette Fries. Sometimes we get onion rings also, and those are really great. We like that they have a special burger of the month. Most often they include various cheeses and often include American Cheese. I’ve converted Chris F to being a ranch lover and as such, we require our Byron fixes regularly. Yum!

Not my favorite Byron, but there’s a nice view of Hoxton Square. The«Le Smokey» is a flavor-bomb of tasty toppings, although the shredded iceberg lettuce was a bit at-odds with the bacon, crispy onions and chili BBQ. The cook also put a bit too much char and left it closer to medium than medium rare, leaving a slightly burned aftertaste with each bite. Still absolutely delicious, but like I said, definitely not my favorite. £9.75 for the aforementioned special, but the standard burgers are a few quid less.

We ended up at Byron because our first choice had already closed their kitchen. It wouldn’t have been my first choice. For me Byron isn’t bad, it’s just not great either, just kind of okay. Which sometimes is okay if there’s nothing else available. This time instead of the Byron burger I had the Chilli burger(but with blue cheese and bacon instead of American cheese). We ordered onion rings and chips to go with it as well. There were several other people at the table too, so I got to try a couple of other sides as well: the mac and cheese and the courgette fries. The so the Chilli burger is definitely better than the Byron burger. As I was eating, I told the other half that I thought it was better than the last time I went, and he responded, «Well it’s okay». So he took a bite of mine and I took a bite of his. The Byron burger was just okay, which is how I felt about it last time as well. It’s seriously lacking in something. The Chilli burger, he agreed with me, was much better. The chips are pretty tasty. Mostly crisp and a nice fluffy interior. The onion rings are fine, with a bit of greasiness. The mac and cheese is creamy, but needs something, and the pasta is seriously undercooked. The courgette fries look nice, but they’re a bit underseasoned and look much better than they are. It’s nice that Byron is everywhere in case you need a last minute place to go, but it’s definitely not someplace I’d go out of my way to go to.

This is our teenage daughter’s favourite burger joint —(should I feel smug its not McDonald’s?). High quality ingredients perfectly put together. They can cook a burger and they are worth the money… the sides are a bit bit hit and miss — good mac and cheese and courgette fries — have had better French fries. Its a great location — opposite White Cube overlooking Hoxton Square. The outside tables are a people watchers dream — it is a chain(lots of chains are moving into Shoreditch by stealth) but somehow doesn’t feel like one. Definitely the pick of the burger joints in the area…

I live right next to Hoxton Square so I tend to hang out around that area mostly. I always end up going to Byron’s for dinner because(a) Byron burgers are the BEST, last year I always went to the branch in Angel whose decoration is much better however fhis one also has a nice vibe(b) I love the service! The people that work there are all very friendly and always smile and for that reason I definetly recomend this Byron in Hoxton Square to anyone that is looking after filling his/her stomach but is on a budget!

If you’ve been reading my reviews you know a few of my idiosyncracies: –I don’t like chains –My sour face comes on when I see pricey food that doesn’t need to be –paying for a burger without fries is so not fetch(my issue with 5 guys) Byron is all these things, but I still like it. The décor has enough funkiness that keeps my ADD appeased, the staff is nice enough and the meal deals they have are always intriguing. I especially liked the one that involved whiskey, of course. I also like this location. I go out a lot in this part of shoreditch so it’s always a good spot for me to grab a bite when I’m feeling splurgy or just coming from somewhere in the area before I head somewhere else. I’m a bit of a burger snob, so it’s okay. With my student discount GBK will win me anyday, but when I feel like switching it up, Byron shall receive my patronage.

Whilst we were in London we visited Byron, an established restaurant kicking out burger after burger. To be honest we didn’t really know what we wanted to eat at this time but basically the strap line sold it to me. — Proper Hamburgers. We actually sat outside as it was such a hot summers day, however I did have a look around the interior of the restaurant and Bryon is true to their word — «We serve it with a smile in a comfortable environment.» The design of the restaurant is minimal, taking a no fuss approach but still manages to feel American. It works very well and give you a sense of «Its all about the food». The Menu itself has a good choice of tried and tested burger combinations. From your classic hamburger, to bacon cheese and a brilliant veggie burger(of which my partner ordered) I went for the«Cheese» option, basically having a choice of five cheeses to choose from — mature Cheddar, American, Monterey Jack, Emmenthal or Blue Cheese. I chose the Blue Cheese as I’m a big fan.(£7.75) The burger was cooked very well and was just as I ordered — Medium to well-done. The bun was soft, the meat oozed quality and the cheese within was prefect! There isn’t much to say about my burger other than it was pretty much a perfect burger. It would have been good to see a glazed bun, I believe this really adds to the presentation but its only a minor comment. We shared a side dish of Skin-on-Chips(£3.25), big, fat, chunky fries — I’m a lover of skinny fries with skin on, however these from chunky chips from Byron were more than substantial, had a lot of flavour and went really well with the burgers. My partner, as mentioned above chose the Veggie burger(£7.75). She did go on to say it was the best veggie burger she’s ever had. — Say no more then! I was also impressed with the choice of Craft Beers on offer, this is something other burger restaurants need to learn from! — Nothing goes better than beer and a burger. Both go hand in hand with each other so a good burger can sometime be let down by a crap beer! — My opinion anyway. Our bill came to a respectable £25.75. This was for 2 burgers, 2 drinks, 1 side and taking into account this was central London I didn’t think this was too bad! :) We really enjoyed our visit to Byron, Considering they have 22 establishments throughout London, I don’t think it’ll be too long until we visit again.

Amazing. This place had everything I could ever want. Fantastic burgers and bourbon. They have a great selection of bourbons to drink, and a bourbon bbq sauce that is heavenly. We enjoyed our tortilla chips with with tomato salsa and guacamole starter. The home made skin-on chips and onion rings we shared as sides were also really good. My sister in law had the oreo and brownie sundae. She enjoyed it, but said she couldn’t detect the brownie pieces. My husband and I had the chocolate brownie. The brownie was warm which was perfect for the cold night. With the exception of the tomato on my burger when I asked for no tomato, I don’t have any complaints about this place. The waiter was friendly and took our order correctly(he repeated it back), and even mentioned again no tomato when he set my burger down. So I can’t fault him for the tomato mistake.

I do like Byron. I find it a bit pricey(but compared to the burger at Burger & Lobster I suppose you could say it’s a bargain) but reliably good. I also like the way they actively avoid making their different venues look like each other, although I think this is a cunning ploy to get people like me who try to avoid chains to eat here. Some places’ décor work better than others(the Angel one is just stupid). This one is right on Hoxton square with a few outdoor tables too. I needed food fast, I had 25 mins to be somewhere — they told me this would be fine if I didn’t mind waiting 10 for my food. I sat and ordered simultaneously and in less than 10 mins a delicious chicken burger(now there’s a change for me) and some fries were presented before me. Bill paid and hunger sated I was out of there in just over 20. Nicely done Byron, nicely done. PS — warning, the chicken burger was marinated in something which I can’t remember that repeated on me in a good way but gave me rather smelly breath for the rest of the evening.

I went to Byron for the very first time on my birthday last week! It’s hard to be grumpy when it’s your b-day, so my review is probably slightly rose-tinted :) My americano friend suggested the group head to the Byron’s Shoreditch location for«the best burgers in London… seriously». Whilst they aren’t the best burgers I’ve EVER had, they’re probably the best I’ve had since arriving in the UK. They’re pricey, yes, but I’d say they’re worth every penny. Since I was a bourbon virgin, too, the waitress kindly helped me pick out the best bourbon to go with my burger and we all did some birthday shots! Yum. With the cozy, american-south inspired décor and fun vibe I got from the Shoreditch location, I’m definitely keen to check out some of the other Byron locations!

I’ve heard for months Byron was one of the best burgers of London, so i was VERY excited to finally go yesterday. Only 5 burgers on the menu(including a veggie one!), no fancy bullshit spin-offs, and that’s when you know it could be a good place because its straight to the point: it’s a BURGER place. I took the Byron burger, made with mature cheddar and Byron sauce(£8.75). It was SO nice, the meat was perfectly cooked and kinda melt in your mouth. And what was incredible was that it felt light! When i go to Mcdonalds and i get a burger, i feel so full and unsatisfied. That was the contrary, i felt light AND satisfied. The hand cut chips were excellent too. However my friend said the french fries were a bit disappointing(she has the same standard as me: my favourites are… Mc Donalds!) They have a terrace too on hoxton square which makes it very appealing in this indian summer time… Cheap, Great, GO!

You know… this was really a 4.5, but I’ll be generous, as this location is right around the corner from my new flat. I’ve tried Byron before(Cheapside location) and I was underwhelmed. THIS time, my burger was excellent. I had the Byron, which has lettuce, tomato, onion, bacon, and BYRONSAUCE. What is Byron sauce? Like all special sauces, it appears to be their attempt at an In and Out like sauce: orangish in colour, like a mix of mayo, ketchup, and relish or thousand island(but not at all tart like TI dressing). At any rate, it was really good. We also got the fries and mac and cheese, both of which were tasty, but I probably would say the M/C isn’t worth the calories. What also sets this Byron apart, is its unique space. Brand spankin’ new, and a bit less on the shabby chic side than other Byrons I’ve seen(like Angel). They also have a really nice amount of HEATED outdoor seating. I’ll certainly be back.

Buzzy atmosphere. Like an American diner. Cool on your own but much cooler with friends. Excellent burger with nothing added. Exactly as decent meat should be. Nice soft bun that didn’t take away from the burger. Courgette fries are to die for and much more healthy than regular fries because they are green! Try this place. Cannot believe it is a chain. Staff seem very happy to be working. Attentive but not aggressive. Nice setting on Hoxton Square and everything hip that is there. I meant to take a photo of my burger to post on here but it didn’t sit on my plate for long. Too delicious.
