Cafe Eltham

I have been a regular customer and am so sick of them forgetting items in take away orders and being indifferent about it that i had to write a review. Avoid take aways from them, tonight they cocked up my order which meant they didn’t even deliver it and refused to rectify it. We are going on holiday tonight and were relying on them, despite them getting it wrong and me waiting 40 minutes they said I had to wait another 40 minutes! The manager was rude, indifferent and denied there was a problem until eventually he apologised but had lied about it initially. I told them I have been a regular customer for years, total indifference, didn’t care, very frustrating they are so happy to lose a regular customer so easily. No wonder they are empty during the week. Total unprofessionalism and they don’t care about their customers is the message they give out. The Jasmin on Shooters Hill is much better they are attentive and even offer 10% discount for families and the food is lovely.

My Indian takeaway of choice for the few years. The food is always of a good quality, always hot and delivered on time or early. I change Indian’s after 2 bad experiences and Café Eltham are still going strong. I’ve never eaten in so can’t comment on atmosphere etc.

Quite bad curry. Oily red miscellaneous masala. Not what you expect of a balti. Also though asked for less oil there was still 5 or 6 tbsp of it ontop of each dish.
Is a shame as year or so ago it used to be really good.

This is, quite simply, the BEST indian you are ver likely to have– i go there to labour meetings. From the moment you walk in, you immediately feel at home– i quite like the lighting, myself! lol. onto the more important things!- the food, well quite simply, it is the best– the chef really knows what he is doing, and clearly loves cooking it! the wine is good as well. not too bad on the prices– it may not be the cheapest, but it sure as heck ain’t the most expensive place! the staff are brilliant– always going out on a limb to serve you. just make sure you give them a good tip! they deserve it!
