Really great littlle place and a haven from the chavtastic Village, which is opposite. 241 cocktails are a real bargain and the staff can mix a tasty mojito!

This has got to be one of my most favorite places to go out ever! And I don’t mean just at night, one of my favorite things in Summer is going in, having a great Mojito and watching the world go(well traffic go up and down the hill) through the open doors. It’s not the most glamorous of places, it could do with a bit of re-decorating but they do make some of THE nicest cocktails I have ever tasted. I adore the Mojito, whilst my man loves their El Diablo, I have tried many others Singapore Sling, Mai Tai — all delicious! BUT and it is a big BUT the place has a bit of a nasty reputation once you get past 10 — 11pm when a more ‘rowdy’ crowd come in. We tend to leave then but the times we’ve stayed we’ve never experienced any trouble at all, it may be because we are stocky Northeners and with our now weakened accents or because we keep our selves to our selves but we have NEVER had any trouble. BUT we have heard things — even off the bar men — so be warned. I love it on a summer’s evening have a few Mojitos with friends then home for a BBQ — what more could you ask for? Oh, it even has some great Latin music on selected nights, but again, caters for a different crowd later on by playing quite hard core Hip Hop(the main reason we don’t usually stay) But it can play some great old school and they take requests — Bobby Brown goes down a treat!

Dark, moody and uncompromising Café Loco pulls no punches, it doesn’t pretend and isn’t overly pretty, but a fantastic little hideaway that serves 2 for 1 cocktails. I have only been during the week, popped in once with the missus and once with my brother, all 3 of us are or have been bartenders for some of London’s busiest bars so can tend to be over critical at times, but we were impressed. For the price the cocktails are good, not amazing but good, also the Bartender didn’t take offence when my cocky arsed brother wanted to advise him on the art of cocktail making. Took in the information in and seemed to appreciate it. Drinks were served promptly and with a smile The lighting was perfect for a nice romantic drink or just to chill with friends, also the music was none offensive and slightly none descript, and the temperature perfect. Clientele wise most were relatively smart & well dressed, tended to be a few couples and small groups. Taking a trip to the loo’s reminded me of the first time you go in a friend’s house, go up some stairs and several doors are staring you in the face, none really clearly marked out, apprehension at opening the wrong one and not being comfortable with what you may find. However letting your eyes adjust from the dark below you can see the tiny markings on the doors. So one opens the door and you could have been a bathroom in a student house, slightly dank and unforgiving pungent. So not the most sophisticated of bars but not a dive by any means, I would defiantly advise a trip midweek, however maybe not on a first date, especially if he/she is a little prince/princess. However for those of you comfortable to put up with a bit of grime for a few cracking well priced cocktails, this place is for you, especially as it’s situated in an area that is full of lazy, self centred bars that only give folk what they want and are stale for it.
