Very small café, the kind of place you don’t go unless you know it’s worth. And it is! Take one fresh juice and anything in the Brazilian side of the menu. I love their Bife Acebolado with beans instead of fries. It was recommended to me by a Brazilian friend and I cannot agree more with him!

Been here just two or three times over the last 12 months or so and every time, it’s been super friendly and welcoming as if I were a regular. Only really done breakfast(very tasty poached eggs on toast, and coffee as good as it gets) but lots of other great food on the menu including all sorts of Brazilian dishes and pastries. Love it!

Lovely café just off busy tot rd. So its nice and quiet. Outdoor seating so it’s lovely in the summer. Small and intimate it has a great vibe and the food is tastey and reasonably priced for the area. I love to meet friends here — a lovely place to chat and grab a bite to eat over tea/coffee

Acai in the Pot! This is a cute little Brazilian café with nice seating outside and really friendly service. I was so happy to find acai in London. Such a nice surprise! The coffee here is also really good, possibly the best I’ve had in London so far. I really like this place, and if I lived in the area, it would be my go to café. As it is, though, I will just have to venture out there whenever I get a chance!

I love this place perfect for chilling in the sun with an amazing smoothie or glass of wine to amazing food! From breakfast to dinner the food is great(including steaks) and also a great little café to people watch with a croissant. Passion fruit smoothie is my favourite. Its a great place to meet friends for a bottle of wine on a nice evening or lunch as outside seating gets the sun. The service can be a little slow so dont go here if your in a rush. Prices are very reasonable as well!

Well, they paid for advertising and had no reviews so here it goes. The place has great food and a very inviting atmosphere. The servers are super nice. We love the place. What can I say. Would recommend!

The other Unilocal reviews kind of let me down here, I felt. Firstly, beware of the listing — it’s on the other side of the square from what is shown on the map. Also beware the stool seats but the window — one of them is basically completely broken, I didn’t realise until right when we were leaving but my poor friend was basically sitting just on the frame as the wicker seat was totally broken! Staff were nice but the food took forever to come out(although it came out pretty quickly after I think they heard us complaining so they are certainly responsive!). The main reason I was disappointed was that I assumed from the reviews and the 1 £ sign that this was a lunchtime café type place and I would be able to get some kind of Brazilian dish for under 10 quid. That is not the case. The only main dishes less than 10 quid are burgers and pasta, which kind of defeats the object of coming to a Brazilian café. In the end we opted for a selection of Brazilian starters to try and take a slightly cheaper small plate approach. Everything was pretty good but was so incredibly heavy, I actually felt quite ill! Really wish they try to come up with some lighter Brazilian fare that could be a sub £10 lunch.

This is a great little place in Fitzrovia. I went there a few times while I was staying at the Indian YMCA by the corner. I only tried the Mocha there and it was great. I didn’t try their cakes or other goodies but they sure looked mouth watering. The have an interesting setup with their tables. The one where I was at had a collection of black pepper pellets in the centre. Another table had biscuits while another had pasta. Their staff is polite as well.

A teensy, steamy café with a range of good Brazilian dishes alongside standard café/coffee shop offerings. Serves alcohol. We struggled to get a table even though we’d booked, as all the tables(5⁄6 maybe?!) were crammed with happy diners. Once installed, my group enjoyed a leisurely lunch with friendly service. I am sorry to say I don’t remember the name of my plateful, but it consisted of a savoury rice, fried manioc(like potato), fried chicken(my request for halloumi instead was accomodated graciously), chopped tomato salad and a crispy breadcrumb-like pile of Farofa(Wikipedia tells me this is a dish of toasted manioc flour with tiny bits of pork, onions, hard boiled eggs or different vegetables). Tasty. We were too stuffed for dessert, but the range of interesting looking Brazilian cakes was too tempting to ignore, so we shared a squidgy crème brûlée type slice(again, alas I don’t remember its name) which was lovely.

Lovely little bright and clean café with comfortable seats. Had vegetarian breakfast which was made with fresh ingredients, including halumi cheese, yum. Also looked like nice omlettes and smoothies on offer.

I love this place. This is the place to be if you want great food with friends or even by yourself. It’s very small so make sure you get there early. The food is fantastic Brasilian food. We were there for hours, eating & catching up and the waiter never once asked us to leave or whether we want the bill. We were there for 3 ½hrs and there was never once an empty seat on a Saturday afternoon. I think this place is very popular with the Brasilians & Portuguese. I always recommend the steak dish(seriously juicy & succulent) or the stew. Thinking of it makes me want to go back right now.

A great place to come along and enjoy some food or drink, and peoplewatch in Fitzrovia. The service when I went along on last Saturday wasn’t exactly stellar, but the waitress admitted this was her first day on the job, so I have some tolerance here! I ordered a soft drink and a prawn cocktail baguette — both took a little while to be served, but once they came they were both good! There’s an interesting range of Brazilian dishes on the menu as well which I plan to try out in the near future. Unfortunately there was a notice on the door stating that Café Rio would be closed on Sundays from now on… very unfortunate, as it was one of the few establishments in this area that *was* open. Let’s hope this decision is reversed. In short: a fine little café in the heart of Fitzrovia. Well worth a visit if you’re in need of a snack and some refreshment!

Sunday brunch or breakfast is always at Café Rio. I can go by myself and even take friends along. The service is homely and great. Even the other people that come to the café are happy and very friendly. The brazilians sure do know hospitality. They only take cash and no cards. The menu is superb though with Brazilian dishes to English breakfast. Freshly squeezed juices to your liking and even the lovely strong South American coffee. Very charming place indeed, now you know another secret place of mine.
