A hidden gem. First impressions might not be the best from the outside but once inside you are created by very friendly and attentive staff, excellent menu choice for a small café and surprisingly great value for money — considering it’s situated in central London. The two of us ordered two full English breakfasts, bacon and egg sandwich, hot chocolate and orange juice. The food came very quickly and was of great, delicious standard. Would highly recommend to anyone in the area.

How all cafes should be — fresh ingredients, plenty of choice, kind to your wallet, staff that care and well made food. Nothing fancy and no thrills but sometimes that’s just what you need at lunch. Always get a nice friendly welcome from the French lady who I think is the proprietor. I often struggle what to choose as there’s so much on offer and it all looks very good. The Paninis are fantastic — sundried tomato, mozzarella and pesto is my favourite. I’ve had the lasagna which is also tasty and good value. I really wish all lunch cafes in London were like this.

I come here for lunch quite a lot since my office is just round the corner and I brought some friends who work nearby too — we all really like it. It’s not the best food in the world, mind you, but it’s simple, it’s cheap and the portions are generous(although it’s a bit too much for me sometimes). Baguettes /toasties are around £3, they have really good filling soups for £2.80(they give you a buttered bread roll with them so don’t be silly like me and buy a bagel to go with it haha), a special of the day that’s usually around £4. Same goes for their salads. Their lasagnas are very good too and cost £5. Every day they pick one baguette/toastie/soup/pasta dish and they are sold at a reduced price — encourages you to taste different things. My favourite thing is probably all their baked potatoes served with a side salad. Very filling and very good, and a nice change from soups/sandwiches and what I usually get when I’m in a hurry. £3.50 to £4 for a serving I think. You have baked potato with cheese, bolognese, beens and sausages and one or two other ones that I can’t remember right now. The lady who runs it is lovely(and I’m not saying it because she’s French too, she really is!). You are usually served pretty quickly which is good since most of us don’t have that much time to grab some food come midday.
