Nice place to hang out for a few hours and work in Shad Thames. I like their chocolate croissants and muffins.

Hey, everyone! Do you, yes you, like eggs Benedict? Yes? Well, do you like your poached eggs extremely overdone in a preformed mold such that it’s obvious they’ve been nuked? Then this is the place for you. Yuck. Sent the first batch back, second plate came back even more overcooked. Gave up and got a sausage and cheese panini from the place next door.

Decidedly below-average coffee(Italian style), although, given the choice between the Starbucks next door and this place, I’m not sure which way I’d go. The friendly service, free wifi and neat-looking deli case might just tip it in Caffè Paradiso’s favour.

I also find it strange that people insist on packing out Starbucks when real Italian coffee is right next door, but the world is an awfully strange place. Caffe Paradiso is bright, cosy and full of tasty looking treats, from sumptuous sandwiches and salads to devilish looking cakes and pastries. It’s in a really pretty area of London to boot — walking distance from the Thames with a lovely cobbled square out front with some beautiful statues scattered about. The café is a great place to meet friends for a caffeine jolt before sauntering along the river.

In my never ending search to eat all the gelato in London, I dragged Ciaran in here to try it out. It’s a cute little Italian café/restaurant with an ice cream counter and amazing looking pastries and desserts. Like a child I was drawn to the bright pink watermelon gelato. He said it was going to be horrible, psshha he’s hardly qualified to judge ice-cream, so I ignored him, of course. It was perfectly okay creamy gelato, just tasted of awful pink bubblegum. Bleagh — I had to throw it in the bin — throw ice cream in the bin! Fortunately he had been wise enough to get a simple lemon gelato and was quickly persuaded that sharing is caring. And it was good. Hmm lemony.

A GOODPLACEFOR A QUICKSTOPOFF Polite staff and quite a good range of pasties. I wouln’t call it a deli though, more of a coffee shop with cakes. Quite clean but dim lighting means you need to choose your seat carefully if you want to read. Pastries were fresh and the coffee was OK although not brilliant. Nice Sofas for a relaxing chat.

I live really near to here and it is one of my favourite places for tea and coffee anywhere! Unfortunately, there’s a Starbucks a few doors down which is always full and I think if they only knew the delights of Caffe Paradiso! Coffee is amazing, great teas, ice cream, desserts, home made foods, salads and sandwiches and free Wifi!

I believe this is some sort of offshoot of a bigger Italian chain that do pizzas and the like but this is a small little café selling coffee, sandwiches, great ice cream and Christmas hampers as I recently discovered. Though the lighting and strange location(it looks right into a really boring gift shop) aren’t entirely conducive to long chats over coffee it is a pretty chilled place with a few big comfortable sofas. Probably better for a quick drink/lunch and if you’re alone, you won’t really be alone — there are plenty of people getting everything for one, especially around lunch time when many office workers come down to Paradiso.
