Great food, iffy ambience, at least at lunch time. Came here off the cuff for some lunch. Had a weird limbo like moment at the beginning as we stood but nobody came to show us to a table for a while(it looks like a here is your table sir kind of place). The same thing happened to another group who came in later on. The food was great. No questions about that. An older Italian man was next to us praising the food too(which means more than my praise I assure you). Ambience was slightly off but I think that was just lunch time. The only other thing to note is that the toilets, whilst perfectly clean, were just a little off given the standard of everything else. Generally I would come here again for dinner, I would even bring parents. It’s not a fancy dinner place, but it’s nice enough to bring my oh so middle class parents and them feel like I’m living the idyllic London lifestyle that none Londoners think Londoners live.

My family and I were visiting from the USA we stumbled across this place walking around. It was delicious the fresh bread straight out of the oven was amazing. The minestrone was a great kick start. The tagliatelle bolognese was delicious and the bruschetta was good as well. The interior is really cute remodeled and modern. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. They even have a lunch special ½ off.

Quite a gem in a predominantly Asian cuisine area(bordering Chinatown). Possibly the very best Minestrone soup I have ever had. Brick oven pizza was delicious, slightly soggy from the sauce, but tasty nonetheless. My homemade gnocchi was superb. Food quality rates 5 stars for sure. I would take ½ star away if allowed due to nit-picky issues. The service started out strong but dipped at the end slightly due to the crowd that filed in I suppose. This left us waiting a bit extra to pay our bill. A bit of ‘up selling’ going on by the owner(?) pushing bottled water and wine but nothing obnoxious. I would definitely return for an authentic Italian meal when back in the area.

After about a year, I returned to Cappuccetto to have what turned out to be an amazing meal in an expanded and redone restaurant that I didn’t even recognize. When I walked up I wasn’t sure it was the right place. What was once this itty-bitty quaint place was expanded and given the modern bistro treatment. In fact, though the host and staff looked familiar I still wasn’t convinced until I started started eating. The host had to assure me they expanded and I was in the right place. Though I loved the classic Italian kitsche, I have to admit the roomier restaurant is far more comfortable. But in the end, the food is the most important thing and let me tell you, this place has delicious food. My eyes rolled back in my head with each bite, sort of like a shark. So sue me. Better yet, call Chief Brody and blow me up, electrocute me or whatever the hell they did in the next two Jaws sequels that nobody watched. I ordered a nameless starter salad with friend ricotta balls on top. The ricotta balls had fresh chopped basil and parsley notes in them, a nice compliment to the vine ripened tomatoes and greens with a drizzle of balsamic and presumably olive oil. I took a picture, but the pic is missing a ball because I couldn’t wait to try it. This was a special. They need to have this on the menu every day. For the main course I got the Gnocci Sorrentino, which was a lot more tomatoey(tomatoeier?) than its predecessor dish with bits of mozzarella di bufala melted into it. Though fairly simple, the sauce was well-seasoned, molte delizioso, and was ample to sop up with bread. It also paired well with the wine I got. What wine you ask? I don’t know, the waiter suggested it. I neither wrote it down nor took a picture. I know, total Unilocal-fail. :( What does make me happy about this place is that they have crushed red pepper. Why is it so hard to find this at Italian restaurants in England? I can barely eat pasta without it. I asked for it in Italian, but they had it, making my meal perfect. When dinner was over I was asked if I wanted dessert. Initially I said no, but then realized I didn’t want to go… I was way too blissed out to put an end to a good meal like that so abruptly. When the complimentary Limoncello and cookie came, I reneged on my dessert refusal and ordered the tiramisu, along with some cappuccino and sambucca to wash it down. Sometimes, when you have a spectacular meal, you just have to embrace the fact you’re a fattie and keep eating. And then you give it five stars.

Salty food especially the pasta sauce. I love rustic restaurants but Cappuccetto is dim, old and in my opinion in need of a revamp also the seating is cramped. Avoid

This is a tidy little italian aimed at office workers and the pre-theatre crowd here on the street in Soho that probably sees the most footfall at evenings and weekends. Their lunchtime deal is extremely reasonable — £5.50 for a main meal and a beer or glass of wine. The menu is admittedly basic — penne arrabiatta, lasagne or a margherita pizza — but authentic and satisfying. The waiters are all real-life Genovese with the football memorabilia to prove it. If you don’t mind your pasta with no-frills, this is the place for you. If, however, you want to linger over your tiramisu and stare into a lovers’ eyes, this probably ain’t the best choice — particularly given the plethora of other excellent Italian restaurants in the area.

Nice authentic tasting food which is very well priced considering where it is. Their lunchtime offer is pretty good values as you get a pasta or pizza main course plus a glass of wine, a beer or a soft drink for £6.50. The choice of pasta and pizza for this lunchtime deal is from the main menu too, rather than some cut down lunchtime specials. It can feel a tad cramped but for a filling, tasty lunch or pre or post cinema/theatre supper(it’s only round the corner from where Spamalot is playing on Cambridge Circus) it’s a good one.
