We were looking for a nice cocktail bar, not too busy and not too noisy on a Tuesday night. Having started at Green Park and wandered through to Carnaby Street and then Soho, we weren’t that impressed with the noise levels and masses of people. Enter Casa, stage left! We were able to grab a small table with some lounging chairs in the back, near the door to the smoking room and were quickly brought menus and complimentary nuts(really good by the way!). The list isn’t huge but there will be something for everyone I think, a little too much egg white in the menu for my taste(just not a fan) but I was able to find at least 4 or 5 I wanted to try(but didn’t!) A couple of cocktails for the two of us, and then a glass of Rose each. The ambience was good, with it never getting too crowded, although groups came and went. we were there for a couple of hours and didn’t feel rushed or busy. The staff were attentive, and drinks were delivered quite quickly and were strong although not tasting of too much alcohol. A nice lounge bar, and I think I’ll probably take my Dad here for the smoking room.

The cocktails are great, but the ambiance feels a bit lacking. Its a nice place, don’t get me wrong, its a lovely lounge with great service. Just didn’t feel homey and the lights were a bit too bright. I wish for the life of me i could remember the drinks i had, but that was not the first place we hit that night, so i can’t recall what I had.

Another quality night for a cheeky smoke. Started the night off with a Upmann Magnum 50 and then took a creamy San Cristobal for the humidor at home. Always a pleasant experience with knowledgeable staff and lovely aroma in the place. Fully recommend the place for a social chat or a quiet reflective smoke.

4.5÷5 In a Nutshell: A sexy, upscale bar/lounge with craft cocktails and great cigar selections… served with a dash of Latin flair. I’ve been twice to Casa(no longer Casa del Habano) and always enjoyed my stay. The décor is low-key, low-lit and swank, deftly balancing the use of Cuban memorabilia and photographs without becoming flamboyant… as many other Latin-inspired establishments are known to do. Casa is actually on double-duty as a cocktail bar with an adjacent cigar lounge(with an impressive walk-in humidor). I go for the the cocktails… they have an extensive list of imaginative cocktails and I enjoyed my Fish-House Punch– dark rum, cognac, peach brandy, fresh lemon juice & sugar, served over ice. I went with two friends, one trying to convince the other that gin-based cocktails are actually quite good(he was right… the other friend enjoyed it). Cocktails average around £9, with is very reasonable given how schnazzy the place is(and great service). Highly recommended.

Walking into a humidor with every Cuban brand from Trinidad to Cuaba is an American’s dream. It comes true here! Prices aren’t out of line with other places in London and they have great chairs to sit in.

Having been fed but not exactly watered at Hummus Bros down the road(no alcohol) last night we left in search of somewhere to have a drink whilst discussing holiday plans. You might think Soho is not the best location for a group of 5 to have a conversation where everyone can be heard on any night of the week. Especially when you abandon the relative quietness of a restaurant for one of its many bars. Casa, however, provided just that. I couldn’t figure out where the hotel bit of this business is supposed to be but the bar area is reasonably small, had a few empty tables and not too much noise. The bar staff were friendly and professional. I can’t comment on their cocktails, although they do have an extensive list for about £8.50 a pop. Strangely they also have a humidor next door. I’ve never seen a cigar sampling room in London before,(I didn’t even realise the smoking ban allowed them) but due to a chip and pin malfunction I had to go in here to pay with my card. At the back there’s a room full of fancy cigars and at the front people can actually sample them. Personally I can’t stand cigars or the smell of them for that matter so hated having to come in here but it was for less than a minute and didn’t detract too much from my experience here.

This is no longer Casa del habano, it is just Casa now. The shop on one side offer a full selection of Cuban cigar to be purchased and«sample» on site,(thanks to the sampling exemption), but with no alcohol of food to be consume. The bar is now a dedicated cocktail bar offering a selection of great classic and forgotten cocktail aside of some in house creation and a crafted promotion for martini and gin lover with Sipsmith gin/vodka. My name is Renaud, and I Will be happy to be your host Monday to Saturday.

Casa del Habano is one of the few places you can still smoke indoors in public in the UK. Even better: you can only smoke cigars. I believe the Casa is(or was, at least) associated with the attached Floridita Restaurant and Bar, given that the former sells Cuban cigars and the latter Cuban food and drink and music. Now, Casa del Habano is split into two rooms. One side is a bar, a small area of just a few seats, with a large menu of classy drinks and some tapas for snacking. It’s dark, leather, and upscale. Next door — it’s technically separate, so finish your drink first — is the smoking room. There’s a walk-in humidor of hundreds of Cuban cigars, and a few lounging chairs for smoking. The staff are helpful and will happily help you choose a suitable cigar if you’re a neophyte. They even roll cigars there on the site. It’s a good spot to feel like a bigshot once in a while without having to wade too much snootiness. And further evidence that everything you need is on Wardour Street.
