Poor quality. Food was cold.(Twice!) and the dessert was wrong too. Ugh! C’mon! Get it right people. I had a great time but was not about the food or service. The server was really sweet but overall, this a pretentious place with very low standards. Avoid.

An excellent meal. I had beef cheek and pigeon, my partner had cuttlefish and sole. Both of our meals and appetizers were amazing, the service was friendly and professional, and we left completely stuffed. Highly recommend

I recall a much better experience last time I was here. Did the chef or management change? Honestly, I’ve had better meals at Cote or even Café Rouge. Today charlotte’s was high on pretension and low on general goodness. The butternut squash starter was a train wreck of flavours. The sole was dry, the bravette was under-cooked though we specified medium. The potatoes and the leek sides where so drenched in butter and salt I feel chest pain just thinking on it. The dessert caused confusion and even an argument with my date in front of the waitresses. But the worst was the in attentiveness of the waitress, combined with a highly annoying voice and haughty manners. The menu is clearly written to try to impress diners with the many unusual words like ratte potatoes and the delice on the dessert menu and the waitresses sought to explain when pressed but with a tone of derision I’d expect from a teacher telling me off for failing on basic sums. There are so many good places to enjoy an evening for half the price, why did we put ourselves through that? I’m so sorry I chose this place this time. P

We arrived at 2:30pm, completely unaware they closed at this time however were very warmly received and the held the kitchen open for us. The service was impeccable and super friendly. My starter was the mussels. The flavours were insane. Air cured ham, some crazy delicious sauce and even more delicious foam. The portions are somewhat reserved but the taste is big. My pork fillet came pink and juicy. This is certainly one of the best restaurants in Ealing by a long way.

Dinner for two on a weeknight last month — Great ambience, outstanding food and excellent service. We had three courses, each dish was beautifully presented and spot on in terms of flavours. Also great wine on the menu. Front of house staff Evan was attentive and friendly. Would definitely come back.

Charlotte’s place in Ealing is really very very nice! We enjoyed the great wines from the extensive wine menu and the food offered was perfect. The restaurant is in what looks like a private home, you have to ring the bell to get in and it feels like entering the nice atmosphere of somebodies home. Our table was in the basement which was fine but I would like to sit at the ground floor next time. The menu has a good choice and a nice variety of meats, seafood and a lot of vegetables prepared in a variety of ways. The desserts are extremely good and made me give this place 5 star rating. Come early(before 7PM) and you can enjoy a special offer menu with 3 Courses and apéritif for £26.95. Even more value!

Foodgasm week continues! Yet anther star in Ealing! You ring the doorbell to get in, can we say charming? Broccoli soup, very light, flavorful. Vegetarian lasagna, be warned, this is a really rich dish but perfectly portioned, absolutely to DIE for! Dark chocolate marquise with Bailey’s ice cream for dessert, delish. Portions were bigger than I expected. Prices were spot on. Mr. Andrew had the cheese plate which I stole a couple bites from. He’s a regular and it it was obvious they were very appreciative of his loyalty. Service was brilliant. Not sure why Sheila P. wrote such a great review yet only 3 stars. NOWAY this is a 3 start restaurant!

Brilliant food, lovely staff, great location so deserve their recent Award and great to see a family-run business doing so well in Ealing. No hesitation in recommending. We love it.

My sister took me this local gem for lunch and it was so cute. It looked like it was renovated since the décor looked refreshed. They had good English/French cuisine. Decent service and good food.

I used to live in Ealing and last visited this restaurant 6 years ago. It was fine then but the décor was very dated. Well the whole place has been given a makeover and new menu works well. You can eat upstairs, but I prefer the basement as it has a great atmosphere. We had the roast beef cut for 2 and it was delicious. A good and not overpowering wine list, and the staff on our visit were friendly and competent. On the side of Ealing Common with the thunderous North Circular way in the distance, you really do get a feeling of space. Just be careful paying for parking as some evenings parking charges do apply.

Lunch here was fantastic, Situated on Ealing green not only was the location beautiful but the food and service was great. I was early and had to wait for my partner and instead of feeling awkward I was charmed by the lovely Derek(manager). Food was beautiful presented and delicious, the chef clearly loves his work, and the set lunch deal is incredibly good value. I look forward to going again.

This place has been around for 20 years if not more. I’ve had plenty of good meals at this restaurant. The restaurant serves English and french cuisine. The interior is clean and modern. This is not a very big restaurant, perhaps it can sit 50 comfprtably so it is quiet cozy. If you get a seat by the windows you can get a nice view of Ealing Common. They are continously changing and improving their menu, and I’ve yet to experience a bad meal. The flavors are good and sauces intense. They make good food with in season ingredients. Good food, good value for money, attentive staff and prompt service.

We went on a special offer, giving us 50% off Sunday lunch. Even at full price, this is a reasonably priced, slightly higher end restaurant, which was relaxed, with a decent wine list and friendly service.

One of the benefits of moving around for work is discovering new venues for eating Ealing has a surprisingly wealth of restaurants and eateries to sample — my only concern was not having enough days there to try it all out! Charlotte’s Place is an English/French restaurant which, at the time of eating, had an amazinng deal of 50% of their lunch menu — so you could effectively have a pretty high quality 2-course meal for £6 or 3-courses for £7.50! Unfortunately we were kind of pressed for time so could only fit in time for the 2-course meal. The course options(or the Quick Lunch Meal) change on a daily basis so you can never be guaranteed the same dishes two days in a row. We were lucky enough to get a Pork Belly dish(one of my all time favourites as everyone knows) and a crumble option for dessert(again one of my all time favourites!) Although the serving for the main dish wasn’t huge the quality and taste could not be faulted. The crumble too was delicious though I would have welcomed a scoop of ice cream over the slightly watery custard that came with it. Service was very friendly and helpful if absent at times. The owner Alex Wrethman even had a little chat to us on the way out. The location was closer to Ealing Common than Ealing Broadway and is a little bit off the main street and seemingly in the middle of a residential area. But according to Alex there are plans afoot to move the restaurant more towards the Broadway which I think can only help it out.

Gorgeous quaint little restaurant right on the edge of Ealing Common. Unfortunately I have never been lucky enough to get a table upstairs, as although the décor is decent downstairs there is no natural light and you feel like you are sitting in a basement. I shall have to learn to book further ahead. So back to the food — they serve you with a pre dinner cocktail of your choice(who am I to say no) whilst we perused the menu. Great modern mix of flavours to choose from, but being a meat fan I opted for the entricote. A very good choice, it was divinely cooked and seasoned perfectly. My friend had the dover sole which too looked(and I was told) tasted superb. If I lived in the area, I think I would definitely be visiting more often.

Must say, I’ve seen this place reviewed on lots of other sites and was always a little concerned by the 5 line nature of the reviews. If I am looking to spend the average £35 a head on a meal, I want to know I am taking a potential customer/or a date(OK OKCustomer) to a venue where everything is spot on. Well, for Ealing, this ticks the box. Yes, it’s not the West End, but the food was tasty, the service prompt and efficient(if a little cold) and the bill acceptable. It does seem a little up its own booty, but all in all, I give Charlottes Place 5 stars because it is a good restaurant that you can take either your mother, your sister, your prospective lover, your lover, your wife, your lover :-) or even your business clients to and not be disappointed!

Charlotte’s Place is on a corner at the bottom of Ealing Common. If I had to name the cuisine, I’d call it French-British fusion. I’ve been there several times over the last 4 years. It’s probably one of the fancier places in Ealing. They renovated the building in mid-2005. The changes to the building were a mixed bag, in my opinion. Before, it was a small, cramped, old brown wood building with a lot of charm. It’s now a less-interesting white ultra-modern set of rooms with an open kitchen. In other words, like every other modern restaurant. If you like clean, white open spaces, then you’ll like this, though. Me, I like character. The good points of the reno are that it’s got more room: lots of downstairs seating, in fact, with a little jazz piano. The service is usually very good. I remember one meal where my wife started with the lime-cured céviche of sea trout, and I had the honey-roast figs stuffed with foie gras. We shared the chateubriand, which was perfectly done and huge; even the sides(potato, tomatoes, mushrooms, and sauce) were incredible. A bottle of St-Emilion Grand Cru to wash it down, and a dark chocolate and rasperberry mille-feuille(shared) afterwards, made it all just that bit better. On another visit, it was mille-feuille of wood pigeon, fig, apricot, and parmesan, with roasted garlic & shallots. I’ve had some pretty tasty braised pork belly there, too. From time to time, Charlotte’s Place drops promotional flyers to individual streets in Ealing. Those flyers give you half-price food for Sunday lunch on one of a couple of dates. It’s a great idea, and certainly got us back in once. Also, if you sign up for their mailing list, you’ll get info about changes to their menu or their Weekend Early Diner + Comedy Offer.
