So yes, I may have been a bit tipsy on going in here BUT the staff were mega friendly, the atmosphere was awesome and the food was QUITE delicious.

This is a great place to nip into on the way home, directly across the road from Clapham South tube station. Most of the food is already prepared and available for view deli-style. You pick what you want, they heat it up and give it to you in a jiffy. The food quality is very good, there is a small seating area but this is mainly a to-go establishment. The bread oven is fun to watch as they make fresh naan per order in front of your eyes!

Chicken Biryani is my favourite in this urban canteen style Indian /Pakistani Restaurant. Staff is always helpful. Gr8 food at very reasonable prices

Chicken shish kebabs is all I want and they are the only place that sell them. Great cheap Indian take-away but don’t make a habit of it… dangerous liaisons!

I thought I would start reviewing on Unilocal with the place where I have eaten out most during my time in London. Chatkhara is somewhere between a roadside kebab shop and a proper restaurant. Most of the food items are already cooked and you can chose what you want to have and they will heat it up and serve it right away. The good part about this place is the food. It is an absolute delight for the taste buds. I end up licking my plate clean whenever I do a takeaway from this place. It is unbelievably delicious. My favourite is the chicken curry with pulao rice(the rice, specially, are out of the world!). The second great thing about this place is the price of the items. A kebab roll, which is a meal in itself, costs 2 pounds! On the flip side, if you are overly conscious about how much oil there is in your food, this place is certainly not for you. Cos like most pakistani food items, the dishes here are quite greasy as well. But once in a while, it is good to indulge, no? ;-)

Chicken Tikka Wraps. perfect post beer food. Not so sure I’d eat here sober as a lot of the food is pre prepared and sits under warming lamps but those tikka wraps just rule.

Completely agree, my favourite when I used to live down there, perfect post N155 nosh and the cuzza’s were always absolutely delicious. Used to have a metalic futuristic sign but it’s ditched it to go for a more Tootingesque style!

This is a branch of a place that has started in Tooting. Same prices, same style, only missing the large Asian crowd in there eating day or night. It proper rocks though, I have got off the night bus eariler to pop in here!

So, you thought there were no decent kebab places in Clapham? Think again. Of course, there are some seriously crappy kebab places around the High street that could put you off kebabs for life, but almost right opposite Clapham South tube there’s a charming little joint that does really good kebabs. And so cheap! — 1.80 for a kebab roll, can’t go wrong with that. They’ll make the bread while you watch, great stuff. Go easy on the chili sauce though, it can wake the dead. They also serve a decent range of Indian curries, vegetarian or meat, it’s all less than a fiver. Also, look out for their specials. Take out or eat in, it’s not a bad place to stay while you munch down your kebab.
