The meal was off to a great start with the buffalo chicken bites — nicely presented and a generous portion with a delicious blue cheese dip. I think perhaps the bites weren’t as buffalo as they could have been, but the dip disguised this so it wasn’t a problem. But the mains were a disappointment. I went for the pulled pork burrito and my companion went for the pulled chicken chimichanga. To start, they were barely distinguishable from each other. Neither the pork nor the chicken had any flavour, they were the blandest Mexican dishes I’ve tried. There are mild, hot and hotter sauces on the table so I guess you’re supposed to add your own sauce as you like it to your meal, but I’m used to burritos etc with some flavour of their own to start with, or with sauce inside. Of the sauces the hot was my favourite but non were particularly good. A very unremarkable meal. Not bad, just not good. It’s a shame as the restaurant has a lovely interior and I had expected more. Overpriced for what you get, as far as our main courses at least. I should have gone to Chipotle or Tortilla down the road for a better burrito at less than half the price.

This had to be the worst excuse for Mexican food ever. The food was bland, dry and over cooked. The nachos were burnt to a crisp and the burrito was hard and dry. Would never eat here again. Not cheap either.

Most importantly, the food was ok. It wasn’t anything to shout about, but it was about right for Mexican food in the UK. The real let down was the service. We arrived at 5pm on a Saturday and there was one poor guy looking after everyone. It took ages to get seated, and then even longer for him to come over and take an order. Over the course of an hour, more staff arrived. But our starter came with our main course, and the waiter said ‘shhh don’t tell the manager! I forgot!’

This would have been 2 stars had it not been for the lovely fajitas we had as a main course. The service here isn’t great. We were there on a Friday night and had to ask twice for someone to take our order. Don’t order starters here, you’ll be wasting your money. We ordered spicy prawns expecting them to be large and peelable. There were instead very small and mixed with a sauce — avoid. The fajitas as mains though were lovely. Very filling, great guacamole and hot sauce. I left very satisfied. This place is nice for a very casual dinner, but certainly nothing special.

I was quite pleasantly surprised at how tasty Chimichanga was. Missing my regular Mexican fare, I was quite pleased when we discovered this spot. We ordered Nachos and I also ordered a prawn burrito. While the Nachos were divine, the outside wrapping for the burrito tasted a bit too tough for my liking. Still, the seasoning was tasty and the margaritas were on point.(no shame, I totally had 3) Now Chimichanga didn’t wow me until I had dessert. The churros took about 20 minutes, but believe me when I say: bloody worth it. Fresh CHURROS! These fried beauties tossed in sugar and cinnamon filled with caramel and served chocolate dipping with a side of vanilla ice cream were nothing short of amazing. Reminiscing about it is making my mouth water. No seriously. GO!
