Popped in for their £5.95 lunch special. I was only expecting to get a main course but along with came not one but two starters (one hot one cold both very tasty). And with my bill I got complimentary baklava sweets.

Small, friendly, Turkish addition to the list of Clapham eateries. This place offers eat-​in, takeaway, or delivery (min charge £20). A quick spin through their menu reveals a lot of the usual suspects for what I’d euphemistically term «Eastern Mediterranean cuisine», although this is no bad thing in principle. We sampled a selection of starters (falafel — bland, looking suspiciously unhomemade-​some spicy beef sausage (meh), and some spinachy yoghurt item (pleasant), followed by a lamb shish. The latter was very nice, although portion size was modest.
The food was ready to pick us fifteen minutes after ordering by phone, which seemed quick to me, and was perhaps symptomatic of a not-​very-​busy kitchen. The price was reasonable (about £15 for three starters and the main), and the sit-​down restaurant looked clean and tidy; the staff were very friendly as well. I wonder if the portion size issue comes down to cost control rather than a perception of bird-​like local appetities; the real let down was the so-​so quality of the falafel. I should also add as a covering comment that I am a keen trencherman (aka greedy so-​and-​so), so I tend to take a small plateful personally. Hopefully, if this place prospers, they can loosen the purse strings somewhat.
