Cojean

I vaguely recall having eaten at Cojean when I was living in Paris a few years ago, but it seems to have only recently crossed the Channel and now it is down the street from my office. It has attracted a few of my soup and salad loving coworkers for lunch, but I stopped by to try out the breakfast options. I like how they write out the breakfast menu on blackboards so it at least gives off the impression that it is fresh. However, my biggest problem with both the breakfast muffin and the scrambled eggs is that the portion size is incredibly small. You get less eggs in the scrambled eggs than you get at Pod, and you don’t get toast with it either. The small takeout container was only ²⁄₃ full. I suppose the French brought their idea of portion sizes to England as well. It’s also not cheap, as I paid £3.95 for a few mouthfuls. I like how creamy the eggs are, though. I also find it interesting that as far as I can tell, all the staff are French. I have not yet found something here that I love, and I wonder how this French concept will do.
