Standard coffee outlet except this has a quick grab to go counter on the side of the café never a queue here everyone else seems to join the mad throng in the shop. If you are dashing for a train and need a quick grab to go caffeine fix then this is the best option.

I am a regular customer at Costa Coffee, although it is pretty expensive — the food and drink is defiantly worth it. Would recommend to all.

I wouldn’t ordinarily give a chain coffee shop — and such a particularly busy outlet at that — a go, except that, this morning, I had a 12 minute wait for my train(I usually don’t have that much time) and I really needed coffee after a late night involving attempting to finish off a particularly riveting book. I didn’t succeed and ended up waking up later than expected and with a bit of a headache, meaning I couldn’t stomach the thought of having a 30+ minute journey into the office before getting a caffeine fix. So off I popped into the Costa queue. I wasn’t too sure about it, as there were at least ten people in front of me, and, at an estimate of two minutes per person, and with two cashiers, I figured I would have enough time to grab my drink… but only just barely. Instead, I found that the total time taken between getting in line and getting my drink was about five minutes. Incredibly quick, even at places which aren’t as busy. They weren’t overly friendly, but they weren’t rude either. The flat white was good. Not up to the standards of most of the independent coffee chains, but much better than the cappuccino I had the day before at Tinderbox. This place would normally get three stars from me, but because it was so quick and efficient, it gets a bump up to four stars.

This Costa has an extensive amount of seating space, which means there are plenty of sofas as well as small tables with chairs: a great place to chat before departure, or to wait for someone. Despite being at a busy airport terminal, this restaurant is on a mezzanine level which is reserved for food outlets and is only moderately busy. So it’s a good place to have a conversation: you can hear one another. The coffee and food is Costa’s full menu.

I’ve spent a lot of time in Waterloo/Southbank this weekend(no, I’m not entirely sure how I managed to end up here on Saturday AND Sunday). But, as I now have a severe latte addiction, I needed coffee. I like the take away bit on the side of this Costa. That’s why they get four stars(I might be tempted to give them three otherwise). No one else seems to know this takeaway barista is there, so it’s always easy to get your caffiene fix without having to queue. I have an addiction to their gingerbread lattes, but the last one I had wasn’t that great. When the little take away place closed for the evening and I was on my way home, trying to explain to the staff that i wanted extra foam on my latte was impossible. They serve it with none if you don’t ask. What’s the point in that!!! Service was slow and I ended up with two lattes because they don’t listen. So, three stars for the actual café, four because of the nice takeaway bit around the side of the café.
