DVF might have been big on the seventies creating a very feminine and recognizable style, but now days, well I think she is just not the most up to date designer there is. What it comes to wrap dresses, I do give her credit for the invention but please, move on. I am not big fan of the labels glam and push style, body sleeking fit and open necklines. They have expanded the collections to include full range of clothes, accessories and even beauty wear. The shop is worth a visit because the designer has a remarkable history, and also the Notting Hill location is good fun, but for me this is not high fashion or even that stylish.

For fans of DVF, this boutique is great since most department stores only carry a very limited number of pieces from her seasonal collections. Even somewhere like Selfridges is only going to stock a couple of her wrap dresses and blouses… and since DVF’s collections are designed to work together in their entirety… are truly thought-out with the intention that everything can be mixed and matched… you want to be able to have the chance to see and try on the whole myriad of designs(without having to go all the way to Wimbledon — where you’ll find another one of her stores!) That said, these are extraordinary clothes. DVF’s stuff is indubitably wearable and flattering — the fact that you can throw almost anything of hers on and immediately look polished is her designs’ best selling point. Everything is fantastically made and extremely durable — meant for the woman who has kids or is constantly on the go — these garments are intended to handle all matters of sweat and stress and still leave you looking fabulous!

Diane Von Furstenberg is a fashion genius– she has made the wrap dress an iconic silhouette. Who would have thought that such a simple dress would be so poular with women worldwide. Now I have one I can see why– my beautiful DVF dress has seen me through various dinners, parties and even pregnancy. Yes the dresses cost probably almost the same as the average monthly mortgage payment but I was lucky enough to get one as a birthday present from my boyfriend. The Notting Hill Store is a such a delight because unlike many of the other nearby boutiques– the staff are friendly and I never feel pressured into buying something. Although if I could I would happily buy everything in the store. Dian Von Furstenberg I salute you.

Diane von Furstenberg is one of my favourite designers. Her famous dresses are the perfect cut for all women, with designs that flatter like you would not believe. The store, in the heart of Notting Hill, is magical, with a wide, all-glass shop front with von Furstenberg’s divine dresses in the mannequin. Staff are beautiful and pleasant, and yes, prices are high-end, but well worth the investment for a dress that will make you feel totally phenomenal.
