Saying«new coffeeshop in Shoreditch!» is like proclaiming«look, a road!» It’s pretty common, so much so that I’m rarely surprised as they come and go… However, I must say I’m becoming quite a fan of Dirty Coffee. Why? 1. Standout feature: the friendliness. You will not find any caffeine-slinging surly hipsters here, my friends. Genuine, sweet and the owner often chats me up and makes me feel at home. 2. Free wifi. 3. Ample table space/elbow room. Even a few outdoor tables! You won’t be tripping over anyone here, nor will you have to «suck it in» while juggling a bag and a hot cup of coffee to find a seat. Ahhhh, luxury. 4. The coffee is good and the snacks are tasty! Dirty coffee — it might sound edgy, but its all sorts of warm fuzzy to get your coffee buzzy.

If I lived in London, this would be a dreamy little spot to cozy up at on grey days. Ironically, I was here on one of the hottest days of the year, and it was still totally charming. I don’t have an extensive point of reference when it comes to London coffee shops, but I’d say Dirty Coffee is universally likeable(albeit a little pricey in American dollars… but isn’t everything in the UK?). They’ve got the artsy-industrial décor, while still being comfy(see: vintage leather couch). Plus, free wifi AND Madonna’s Immaculate Collection on vinyl, if you’re lucky. Besides their legit caffeineated offerings, they’ve also got tea, juices, and some healthy pre-made meals in their fridge. Flapjacks and other tempting pastries will stare you down during check-out. Extra points for an über-friendly staff! Latte cheers, Dirty Coffee folks!
