Outstanding Butchers, they are now making all their sausages on site, from fully free range pork, supplied by a single farm. Some great Spanish cured sausages too.
Very helpful staff, don’t forget to check out the cheese shop next door and the Fishmongers around the corner. As the other reviews said, not the cheapest, but by far the best, worth every penny.

These guys are amazing! Since arriving in the UK i have looked everywhere for a good one. I’m not a fan of pre-​packed supermarket meat and sorley missed my local butcher back home. However finally I have a solution at Drings. They are certainly not the cheapest for meats however I have never been let down by the quality. Theyare happy to talk to you providing cooking advice and tips. You can usually telephone them in advance if you are looking for something unusual and they can usually organise whatever you need. nearby you can also find a lovely gourmet cheese shop, Greengrocer and fishmonger — perfect dinner party preperation location!

Drings is quality. If you eat meat and want quality and good value go here. I grew up buying meat from a cellophane package and going to Drings is just such a different experience from that.
When in doubt, just ask the butchers behind the counter. They are all extremely friendly and are happy to give you cooking tips and to tell you what’s very good on that particular day.
Some of the choice cuts are a bit pricey, but the quality is so good, it’s still good value. Drings also has a variety of cheaper, not as popular cuts which are a steal and help you cook and eat well even when you are on a budget.
Knowing my butchers and being able to pick and choose and try things here and there without buying them from mountains of packaging is a very satisfying shopping experience.

As the sign outside at Xmas reminds us; A Butchers is for life not just Christmas. So, use it or forever have to try and find something vaguely appetising on the empty meat shelves of Somerfield

Royal Hill has a selection of shops that are just about as good as it gets: this is the butchers. The meat here is excellent quality — which to my mind means that it was treated well when it was alive. They have a fantastic selection, including some of the older cuts you don’t often find. Not cheap, but then why should it be. Main downside is that on Saturday when I go, the queues can be very very long. That should tell you enough about it.
