Veddy, veddy good English pub w/excellent English food. Sunday afternoon roasts are a treat and offered lamb, beef, pork, and chicken when we were there. Duck and lamb shanks are also good, and the fish(haddock) and chips served here is among the best I’ve ever had. Service was friendly and efficient, and patrons very chatty and kind. Friendly atmosphere and beautiful pub interior. Definitely a go-to spot on my London list.

Potential to be a nice, old-school pub, with outside seating all around the flat-iron building. Unfortunately, when I went the bitter was terrible.

Smallish intimate dining affair — I guess — as relatively empty restaurant and most guests seated next to each other. Waitress far from friendly in my opinion. Food good reasonably priced — I had the special pork schnitzel which was nice and the missus had the sausages and mash after settling for the safe allergen free option as apparently it was too much trouble to serve the chicken with an alternative sauce. Wine ok and not over priced. A mix of locals and tourists enjoying a nice eatery near Hyde Park.

A friendly old place with a separate restaurant and some outside seating. Beer was very good and the staff were friendly and helpful. I’d ducked in here out of the rain whilst waiting for the Bombay Palace to open. Despite being very busy, a couple shifted up on a bench and invited me to sit down. A little later on, a chap at the bar dived over to warn me that my umbrella(which I subsequently lost) was about to fall over. There was a TV showing football and what I saw of the food looked very good indeed. No problem with vaping here so it gets my vote.

Great fun on a Sunday night… June, the piano player is an INSTITUTION and the characters that join her each week to sing old war tunes and show tunes(who knew there was a correlation??) is quite fun(though crowded) and it’s a real Pub feeling in case you aren’t really sure what that might be.

4 maybe 4.5, what a nice surprise! We dropped in for Sunday roast. Choice of Chicken, Beef, Lamb OR Pork Belly. Well the server said try the belly and I did and it was perfection! Crispy hard skin, unctuous fat and melt in your mouth pork. The potatoes were super crispy on the outside and soft and moist inside. The only shortcoming was dessert. The stem ginger pudding with ice cream was too sweet to be enjoyed. Walking distance from the Marriott on George Street.

Good local hole. Two tv’s showing football, so that’s good. Slim pickings for beer, but doesn’t seem to bother anyone. Staff nice enough

Duke Of Kendal was a great find for my mom and I. If you are staying at the Marriott Marble Arch its short walk from the hotel for those looking for a cute little local tavern. Loved the atmosphere of the place. The front area is a lively bar and the bar is a little quieter dinning area. The fish and chip was great and huge portion size. Great beer options as well.

This is my neighborhood pub and why am I giving it 5 stars? Because it is one of the only pubs I have gone to in London that has their own menu and personal chef who cooks fresh daily. The fish and chips are to die for ! It is a quiet pub on a quiet street that plays piano music and has some great sing-a-longs. It’s a fun place to be with delicious food and reasonably priced drinks !

Its a corner pub with pictures of the«How I met your Mother» cast on the wall! Yes at one point some of them lived nearby or still do like Neil Patrick Harris and Jason Segel. Even Richard Chamberlain visited and got his pic taken. Its a cozy little place; wood panels and wood flooring, a restaurant area and a bar area with big windows letting the sunshine in during the day. The staff is really friendly and very welcome. We were lucky as we were the only people during the day. Seems that people in London do work :-). There is a small outside seating area and on a sunny day a brilliant idea. We ordered the special of the day sandwiches with a pint of Heineken and for me a chicken ceasar salad and a J20, which was excellent. I am sure that Locals really enjoy this pub and I would do if I would life in that posh area :-)

Great local pub in central London! Good community atmosphere, been there plenty of times, they do best Sunday Roast ever. Staff very charming, as soon as you walk in is a big smile from people behind the bar. Manager is Spanish, friendly and showing she loves her job, few other spanish people working there, and a French guy, they also lovely. I love the special lunch they do during the week for £5.95. Recommend it

Friendly servers and weekly trivia competition run by a friendly older local that costs 2 pounds to enter and Americans have no chance of winning :) Apparently Tony Blair’s house is up the street and you can see the police cars stationed there and protecting him from locals who are not his greatest fans. In terms of food, the marinated olives and garlic starter was great and the entrée of Cumberland sausage on mashed potatoes with caramelized onions was pretty good. It actually made me think of Jamie Oliver’s cookbook which has a recipe for this very dish. They also serve a sea bass dish which my colleague ordered and he found to be above average, but difficult to eat. Above average pub, worth a stop if you are in the Edgeware/Marble arch area.

I love this pub and the people who own it and frequent it. Loads of fun, friendly and on Sunday nights after a proper Sunday dinner, a lady by the name of June crosses the floor, sits down to the piano and begins to play 1930’s songs, different patrons will begin to sing along to the music. As accidential as it was to stumble into this pub one evening, it became our local for the time we lived in London. We returned to Canada and still stay in touch with the friends we made during our time there. After a year away, we returned this February for a short visit and were greeted back like family. A really wonderful place to stop by for a quick drink, nice dinner or evening of fellowship. Cheers to the Duke of Kendal.

Popped in here for a late breakfast on the way to the Serpentine Gallery & rather regretted it to be honest. Like many pubs in London the kitchen is sub-let by a Thai concern & whilst I can’t comment on their staple output(although the menus were a bit shabby) I can safely say it can’t be anymore of a let down than their attempt at a Full English — eggs burnt on the bottom & approaching McBreakfast-alike, a fried slice that was suspiciously unfried & mushroooms more boiled than fried. Being British of course I never complained. Service was fine though & I’d agree with the previous reviewer that its probably a good place to catch a match on the box.
