Ealing Soapy Suds Launderette

I used this laundrette for alterations because my usual dry cleaner had popped out to lunch and I was in a hurry so took a chance on Soapy Suds. Although the staff are friendly and clearly a family run business, the quality of the service they provide is very disappointing.
I took a skirt in to have a new zip fitted. The skirt was brand new with tags still attached but as it had a broken zip I had been able to secure it at a bargain price.
When I collected the skirt I was surprised to see they had chosen to use a metal zip when the original had been nylon. The zip subsequently caught the lining in it and jammed and the staff told me that I would have to be very careful not to jam it in future.
At home the zip broke completely as I was trying the skirt on and to make matters worse I discovered the metal zip is completely exposed whereas the original is completely concealed for a smart look. This should have been a simple task and I now have to pay another £7 to have the same procedure repeated or attempt it myself! The lining had several rips now as a result of this botched job. I am extremely dissatisfied with the result.
I would not recommend this place for alterations or repairs although the launderette facilities may be better…
