The night i came was the Rumpus Party night… I love the venue and all the different rooms it has… It kind of feels like a maze when you first walk around the place but after a few laps you soon get familiarised of the lay out… It’s a great place to hold a event like the Rumpus Party… I enjoyed the night but my only negative comment about the Rumpus Party was the 25 or so pounds door entry charge that people paid on the night. Im guessing some may have felt a little short changed. The cheap advance ticket starting at 13 pounds were more reasonable… This venue definitely isn’t for everyone especially people that are more inclined to the stylish, modern and sophisticated approach… Because this venue has none of that which is the best thing about it… The people were friendly, sociable and with an indication of honesty… Would i go back? To the venue, 100%! To the Rumpus event probably not.

Came here the other night for Rumpus. Someone asked if I’d been to the venue before, and Electrowerkz sounded awfully familiar but I couldn’t quite put my finger on it. Then a mention of Slimelight. Oh yes, I used to come here nearly twenty years ago! Blimey. And the place is just as scummy as it used to be. In a good way, of course. A bit of scum never did anyone any harm. Character-building, innit. And even though I’m not a teeny tiny teenager anymore, the building still feels absolutely massive, the kind of place I could easily get lost in if left to my own devices for even a few minutes. Lots of rooms and lots of levels also mean a variety of things to keep you entertained all through the night. It was most lovely to rediscover you, Electrowerkz. Hope to see you again soon. Lots of love, Baya x(P.S. Sorry I called you scummy. You know I love you though.)

Came here for a gig the other night. It’s a really cool and different place with surprisingly nice toilets?!

If you’re looking for a high end classy club, then maybe Electrowerkz isn’t the place for you. But if you’re looking for a venue full of character, with good parties and salt of the earth people, then it most certainly is. I’ve been to so many events here over the years I’m shocked to think that I haven’t reviewed it yet. I first visited over 10 years ago to go to slimelight, which is the LONGESTRUNNINGGOTHNIGHTINTHEWORLD. Second only to death guild in San Fran. So I’ve been here for goth/industrial nights, but also for metal gigs, for Decompression parties(part of the burning man scene), Rumpus(which is more gypsy swing fun than some of the darker nights), and a handful of other nights. Every time I’ve visited I’ve enjoyed the laid back, accepting nature of it’s clientele — Although you have to be down to earth at a warehouse party where luxury isn’t the top concern. However I love the gritty décor, the frequently changing art, graffiti, the grime, the creative, and ever changing nature of the place. I don’t know how long it’s been there, but it’s only been in the last few years that I’ve seen the downstairs courtyard, and I love the tube carriage bar. Staff also seem down to earth and service and drinks price isn’t unreasonable. Shared toilets took a bit of getting used all those years ago, but it sure beats the women’s toilet queues! Top tip — there’s a big bathroom by the main stage in the top room.

My experiences of elektrowerkz has been at Rumpus parties or for Decompression the Burning man party, so I am not 100% familiar with their regular club nights. This club is a veritable warren of little nooks and crannies. They also boast really kind and helpful staff which means that if you are dress up as an alien and wedged in some kind of fencing they are always happy to help you out. With the ball pool usually being in use, you can imagine the number of items lost on a normal evening here, but again when calling them up the following monday, they have already itemised the lost and found ready for you to collect. The drinks are fairly priced and the toilets are usually surprisingly clean for a «warehouse» type venue. Its definitely an alternative venue and I have never experienced confrontation or people being super duper obnoxiously drunk. Yay for elektrowerkz

I’ve been to Electrowerkz twice for gigs and both times have been a pleasant experience. I liked the laid-back atmosphere but maybe that’s because there weren’t that many people at those gigs. The women’s restroom is spacious and clean.(Very important) I’d love to go back there for another gig.

Clubs like Electrowerkz make me feel at home. After several years in Berlin the slightly run down and ramshackled warehousey spots do it for me. There are several levels, bars and dance floors/stages to explore which makes for a fun and interesting night. Good venue to rent out for a big event as well, c*

Parking a large vehicle in that area is a tad less painful than at other places, thanks to the dead-end street. Concerts tend to have a really cozy atmosphere and the audience is great to look at for sure.

I love the disorientating layout of this gritty warehouse convert club. The clientele and vibe of the venue always make for a good night out.

I’ve been here on 2 occasions during my trips to London. More specifically i went here for Slimelight on Saturday night. This place has a underground/warehouse feeling about it. There are 3 levels of music and dancing space(of course only made it to 2 of them both times i went). The music is comparable to that in the Los Angeles Goth/Ebm scene so there is plenty of great music to dance to all night long if the music is what you’re going for. They do list on thier website that you have to have a membership there to gain enterance, however i’ve found that if you dress the part of the scene and you’re not in jeans and sneakers looking like a «tourist» you should have no problem at all getting in. This place is located around the corner from the Angel Station tube stop and is pretty convenient to get to by public transportation(either Tube or Bus) which was really helpful to me during my trip. For anyone who enjoys the Goth/Ebm subculture and is travelling/lives in or around London, i would highly suggest checking this place out. It’s worth the trip for a night of dancing, drinking and socializing.

If you’re planning a trip round London’s alternative venues, Electrowerks on a Saturday night is a definite recommendation. Housing the now world-famous Slimelight club every Saturday, people come from all over the globe to visit London’s oldest goth, industrial and EBM night, now over twenty years young. Running from around 11pm on Saturday night to 7am the following Sunday morning, this isn’t a club for the faint-hearted, with up to three floors playing a range of music from old school Sisters of Mercy, Fields of the Nephilim and Siouxsie and the Banshees, through to more modern hardcore industrial, techno and noise, such as Reaper, Noisuf-x and Aesthetic Perfection. The building itself is an old warehouse, for that true industrial feel, so don’t get dressed up in your finest if you’re not prepared to have to put them through the wash soon afterwards, and each floor holds a dance floor, bar and toilets, as well as the ground floor giving access to an open area for smokers, housed within a warren of passageways and open spaces. Officially, there’s a membership scheme, allowing those who sign up for cards reduced price entry, and the ability to sign in new members. If you don’t know anyone who’s a member, then it’s probably worth explaining it to the guys on the door, who, if you’re dressed in the right attire, will probably let you in for full entry price anyway. The bar’s quite reasonable, and sells a range of alcohol, soft drinks and sweets to keep those sugar levels going and you dancing well into the morning. One small tip — if you’re planning on making a full night of it, and going until they kick you out in the morning, you’d be well advised to bring sunglasses, as when you finally emerge in to the shining light of Sunday morning, from spending eight hours in a gloomy warehouse dancing your socks off, the sunlight’s going to feel like God’s own flashlight. Trust me — the shades really help here. it’s quite normal for regulars who don’t feel like going to bed afterwards to go and find sustenance, or just somewhere to sit, and you’ll frequently find a mixture of black-clad goths, studded rivetheads and day-glo cyberkids hanging around the coffee shops in Islington Green each Sunday morning. If you’ve had a decent night’s sleep that night, best to be kind to them — that just might, one day, be you.

As far as clubs go, you can’t really ask for more from Electrowerkz. I came here for a night called 100% Dynamite last year and got down and dirty to some funk, soul, jungle and dubstep. I love the fact that it’s in a warehouse setting and it’s a very reasonable £5 entrance. There’s another night on Friday that I’m trying to drag some people to: pretty much an old school rave, bring your white gloves and glow sticks to listen to the likes of Altern-8, Beardyman and Chase & Status behind the ‘wheels of steel’. This is £12 entrance but would be such a laugh tho. My friends are less convinced.

Decent venue for some refreshingly grimey nights away from the obsessive posers of the Shoreditch scene. Expect mud on the floor, people smoking inside, heavy techno and to be more than a little confused by the staircases and layout. With a slightly better soundsystem, this would be one awesome club in London.

I had an amazing night at electrowerkz. it draws in a really great crowd, and the atmosphere is always brilliant. the music is amazing, always really great tunes playing that you won’t hear in many other places. does not have any pretentious air about it at all, just people who are there for a good old rave to enjoy themselves.

This quirky venue has built quite up a reputation as a quality club. Housed in a former warehouse behind Angel tube, it has a charming feel of being half-finished with lots of nooks, crannies and dark corners to explore. Its low ceilings lend the venue an intimate friendly atmosphere that harks back to the old days of raving. The music is consistently great, with nights such as 100% Dynamite(reggae, dub, ska) putting on some classic parties. Guaranteed a great night everytime at the Electrowerkz.
