This is nothing to do with the school as the school staff were not there that day, this is to do with the Westminster Electoral Services. In previous years it has been very good, but this year was close to a discrace, either a manager has changed or something, but they just do not properly care about people being able to vote and democracy. In the morning there was a ridiculous queue, I mean all the way through the long school corridor before you even got to the voting area, some people have to get to work and this was even after office hours had started and this was just stupid. At the end were three desks, one for each part of the local area, but no one told the queue that the queue was going to a desk that was only for a third of the people in the queue as it was just for one part of the local area. So people got to the end of the queue and then were told to go to another desk. So this queue was three times longer and slower than if people had been told that they should go to the correct desk first time and could find out which desk was for which area. When you got to a desk it took them so long to find you in their list that even that was ridiculous. The people there knew the problem but no one would get up to tell the queue. When people returned later in the day and said about the earlier problem they were told that there was now a sign on the door to resolve this but the person I spoke to said he could not see it. Also of course there was so much around the place that just finding something from the other stuff would be hard. A great way to change the vote by making it hard for people to vote and to put them off and a great way for the UK to further sleepwalk it’s way to being a third world country. People have and are dying to bring out democracy while the facts are that when the battle for democracy has been won, people like these are just not caring by destroying it in front of us. I am sure some people were donig their best but there was no leadership.
