Evolution Stores – Hammersmith

I used to really love Evolution back when it first opened. Everything was authentic and it had that vibe like it was owned by someone magical! More recently it feels like there’s been a change of ownership or something because now this store feels very ‘new age’ as opposed to it’s older more ‘witchy’ feel. Their products have changed and they now concentrate more on oil burners, dream catchers and wind chimes. and the one that disturbs and upsets me the most. Buddhas. My mother is a Thai Buddhist and I can not stress how important it is for people to NEVER put a Buddha on the floor or anywhere lower than your chest level! These are figures of worship, not ornaments to decorate your house and especially not the toilet! It is so disrecpectful, I can’t even begine to describe.
I know I’m going off subject here but I feel strongly about this and I assume anyone reading a review about this store will have encountered and possibly own Buddhas.
The store itself is small but spacious with enough room to move around with a pram or a wheelchair, and everything is presented nicely. They stock a very good supply of essential oils and fragrance oils for burners which my mum loves. Beautiful oil burners
