What a fantastic spot we found while shopping around Harvey Nichols and harrods. The fish and chips were delicious as well as the juices and coffee. Mocha was fabulous. We had just arrived earlier that day and Pierre greeted us and gave us many B great recommendations around the city for both food and activity. Thank you! Sean

Food is average but overpriced. THe outside area is pleasant. The annoying thing, the waiter offered bread and olivies and so we said sure, but they were for a price, should have known, but the quality was poor.

I only visited the bar here but boy were my martini’s good. I got the sky cruiser. If you like passion fruit it’s excellent. I bought two martini’s here which came out to the equivalent of $ 70 dollars. Very expensive. But I enjoyed them.

I’ve only ever been to the Yo Sushi on the 5th floor — not to the other eateries on the same floor. It’s one of my favourite Yo Sushi locations, though, partly for the thrill of eating inside Harvey Nicks — especially at night when it’s dark out in the dimmed food hall. Sort of romantic. The staff at the Yo Sushi here have always been extremely friendly and helpful, last time they recommended that we join the Yo Love Club(or called something similar at least) via our iphones during the meal so that we could save 40% off our meal as it was the right day of the week. That level of customer service definitely makes me want to come back!

We stopped by this place while walking around Knightsbridge. It looked like a nice spot for a meal, so we decided to give it a try. I got a club sandwich and chips and my wife got a salad. The sandwich was fresh and good and the chips were amazing, but the salad was a bit on the empty side, with a lot of greens and not much else. The coffee was quite enjoyable, one of the better ones I had in London. The service was frazzled and scare, and the pricing… my Lord… totally out of control. We paid about 50 pounds including tax and tip for a sandwich, salad and 2 coffees. It was good but it wasn’t THAT good. The same meal would have cost half that in any normal place in London. Finally, I also wanted to add that management here are total douche bags. They put a 1 pound charge on the bill for«charity», without asking or indicating what it was. When I asked the waiter, he got testy and basically threw a booklet at me saying it was to feed the hungry. In the booklet, it says something along the lines of «we charge a pound for charity but if you don’t want it, ask you’re waiter to remove it». I love to give, and it’s only a pound, but after the price gouging on the meal, it’s a lame move!

The 5th floor of Harvey Nicks has at least four eating/drinking options, plus a small but perfectly formed food hall and wine shop. Ought really to have a review for each one. Anyway… Option 1: There’s a Yo-Sushi which I’ve eaten at which is ok I suppose. Food was ok. One negative impression — I asked for a beer and they brought me the biggest can of the most expensive Sapporo they had, which I only discovered when I read the menu after the fact, so I guess I’ve only myself to blame, but I do hate it when that happens. Seemed expensive compared to the one other time I eat at a Yo-Sushi, which was in Clerkenwell about 2 yr ago. Maybe time has dimmed my recollection, or maybe I’m becoming a cheapskate, or maybe Yo-Sushi’s time has come. Option 2 — a café style restaurant. Quite honestly, this was manky. The beefburger was expensive and overcooked. Had some sorbet for dessert which was frozen solid — just out of a very cold freezer. I suspect also it had been thawed a bit and put back in, since it had flecks of frozen water drops in evidence. Won’t be eating there again in a hurry. Option 3 — a sit-down restaurant — fancy and fanciable. Never been there, though, yet. Option 4 — save the best ’til last — the Russian constructivist decorated bar. It’s lovely. Even though it’s ostensibly Russian in reference, it somehow manages a kind of English mod vibe. Not sure if that’s intended, or is it just me. Either way, I’m v. fond of the place. Very comfy, speedy service, good quality drinkies — cocktails all sorts, but with a vodka bias, good wine, and today, a delish salt beef/celeriac remoulade rye bread sandwich with a glass and half of Dog Point NZ Sauvignon Blanc. Yum Yum. Regarding the food hall/wine shop — I quite like it the food hall for its niche appeal and human scale vis-a-vis the zoo masquerading as a food hall down the road at Harrods. Little touches like Japanese dried soups and individual Tiptree jam pots. The cheeserie is v. nice. As for the wine, I don’t buy a lot there, but Harvey Nicks own brand booze is quite drinkable, as opposed to Selfridges own brand stuff which is frankly ‘orrible. (If you haven’t guessed it, all my four stars are for the bar)

If you’re in the store, haven’t completed your shopping, and find yourself absolutely famished, this is a convenient option, but it certainly wouldn’t be my first choice of restaurant in Knightsbridge. They have a three-course lunch for £19.50 that’s a good deal.

Nothing impressive or special. Went because they had a ‘traditional’ American Thanksgiving dinner and I was in London for Thanksgiving

In this restaurant everything is so in keeping with the store downstairs — it’s up market, expensive, cream and as much about people watching as anything else. The menu is contemporary British I guess with a little squeeze of a Frenchman as a sort of condiment. Dishes include the ubiquitous sea bass plus pheasant, pork belly and beef. Everything is £20 plus which is why I’ve only had the starters here, the autumn salad though was really good, sometimes I find my day can actually be graded on the quality of the artichoke that I have eaten that day. Especially in the summer it’s nice here, they have some outside space and even if you don’t want to eat anything a glass of white wine in the air is a great thing in any big department store.

The 5th Floor of Harvey Nichols is know as one of the most luxurious places to stop and eat when one is on a killer shopping trip, or even minus the shopping. I always tend to meet my Grandmother here for a quick glass of and some nibbles. The restaurant is split into two, the bar area which is slightly cheaper and less formal and the main restaurant which is everything you would expect, table service, extensive menu and big prices. I tend to stay in the bar area as I think its better for people watching, you can get more of a report with the staff and you don’t feel like your eating with the Queen. The bar has a massive selection of alcohol and the bar staff are excellent at what they do, Knowing verything about the wines they serve and shaking up brilliant cocktails. The bar menu is somewhat limited and I feel slightly over priced for what they serve, but I’m usually there with rich relatives and tend not complain. A sandwich will set you back £10 though. Its a nice hang out when your having one of those days where you want to feel on top of the world but certainly isn’t a weekly stop off.
