Over priced. Horribly, horribly over priced. The fish and chips was fine, but not stellar. The cheapest fish and chips they have is 17 pounds. In England fish and chips should run you about 5 pounds.

Perhaps 3.5 stars. I love fish and chips restaurants that serve more than just the classic battered and fried cod with chips. This is certainly one of them. We went on a Sunday evening around 8 pm. The place is quite huge, actually, with both indoor and outdoor seating. There were no tables filled outdoors, but inside there were a few. Most of the place was empty, though, so no reservation was necessary at that time. We were given our choice of table and our serve was very nice and pleasant. She answered all questions and offered suggestions. We ordered 1 classic beer-battered cod fish and chips, which were also served with mushy peas. The peas had quite an earthy taste, but the fish was great and the chips were good, but nothing to write home about. For our second dish, we ordered off the a la carte creation menu in which you choose one of about 10 different types of fresh fish and can request it either grilled or steamed. After some debate, we ended up trying the plaice and requested that it be steamed. The plaice is a very soft, flaky white fish. This was served with skin and had a very unpleasant taste. I will be fair and say I don’t think it’s the restaurant’s fault, but plaice is not really the fish to choose, I think. We should have gone with the classic cod if we wanted a flaky fish or probably the swordfish if we wanted something steakier. Anyway, these grilled/steamed fishes are served with a vegetable garnish(fennel, carrot, cabbage), but we requested chips in lieu of the vegetables and they kindly obliged. We also ordered a tomato and onion salad with dressing on the side. When we received it, it had been dressed. When we informed them of the mistake, they immediately replaced it and apologized. The restaurant is quite expensive, but I appreciate the plentiful choices and good service. Also, it’s very open and airy, which is nice. I’d recommend it, but I am not dying to go back.

They have a variety of fish to get your fish and chips fix fully satiated. However, I went with an order of fish risotto balls with smoked haddock and cheese. Wait, it said balls plural on their sign, yet I only got 1 ball. That was fine, it was really good and I recommend adding the curry sauce to go with it. Service was not very nice though and when I got to the center of the ball it was cold. Flavor alone would have gotten them 4 stars, but I had to subtract one for the other detractors.

Just a short walk from London Bridge Station, FISH! has exquisite seafood, all prepared and cooked to perfection. It’s easy to get to, you can walk through Borough Market and take in all the flavours from around the globe on your way. The restaurant itself is almost like a fish bowl, which is a nice touch because it’s a seafood restaurant! After an amazing meal(their lobster is to die for) there are many attractions to look at, you can walk down the street and visit Sir Francis Drakes’ ship, The Golden Hind. A walk out into the open will give you amazing views of The Shard which you can visit! Or, if you’re still hungry, you can stay in Borough Market, tasting delicious foodstuffs and if you decide to buy something, it will not go to waste! I have given FISH! five stars due to the fact that its food is amazing, its location is extremely convenient, the prices are fair, the staff are the kindest people you’ll ever meet and the restaurant is generally amazing, it’s warm in the winter, cool in the summer and the toilets are very clean!

Fantastic food and the wine is beautiful, it felt wrong sitting down at a restaurant whilst in borough market, but I’m glad I did! Two starters and a glass of French wine ended up at £20 which I thought was reasonable, but 20% service charge meant I didn’t bother with a tip.

Worst fish & chips shop! Tiny piece of fish, over cooked jacket. Pea mash taste completely tasteless and liquid like water. Chips are not fried twice, became creepy quickly. Totally amazed by how horrible this place is. It is simply benefited from a good location in the Borough Market, nothing more!!! Try not to go there. Btw, the New Forest cider taste like rotten apple…

Like the scallops and the environment(especially because it located near the borough market). Lobster is quite pricy and the fish cake not even close to ‘fine’. If I visit this place 2nd time, must because its location and view.

The interior of this restaurant is really cool(glass enclosed place in the heart of Borough Market) but the food is just so-so. My halibut and roasted potatoes was fine, and my other dining companions enjoyed their fish n’ chips. A bit pricey for the quality of food that you get, but you are in London so what do you expect? Solid wine and beer list and great location.

We loved this place. Located in Borough Market, the location is a must visit for any foodie traveler. The fish and chips are probably amongst the best I’ve ever had. I’m not a fan of mushy peas, so they didn’t appeal much to me. The beer battering was phenomenal!

I go here regularly with a friend who works round the corner. I love the location and the staff are friendly. The best things on the menu for me are the lobster(but its quite pricey), the fish cakes and the fish soup. I wouldnt think of coming here for fish and chips though its more a place if you like fresh fish and seafood but expect to pay a premium.

Really busy fish restaurant near Borough Market with loads of people and a great vibe. Came in here with a huge group of bloggers for an event so we had a set menu to choose from– I went with the prawn cocktail, the swordfish steak and vegetables and the bread and butter pudding for dessert. The prawn cocktail was huge and super filling so could barely eat my swordfish but it was cooked just right-medium rare and tender. I usually love bread and butter pudding but the custard had a film on it and was a bit cold. Would have preferred it nice and hot with ice cream. White wine was really nice. All in all enjoyable, it’s a big place with plenty of tables or you can dine at the bar.

Chips were better than average, nice and crispy. Halibut was pretty mushy. There was one empty bottle of ketchup. How do you run out of ketchup? There’s only 5 seats in an alley to the left of the takeaway counter. Skin stays on the fish in Great Britain, FYI.

Started with Thai Fish. Amazing. Wonderfully flavorful. Then the main course. I had the traditional Fish and Chips with Mashed Peas. The fish was wonderful and not the least bit greasy. The mashed peas side was a pleasant surprise. I recommend taking a big appetite and trying as many dishes as possible. Really good food!
For the take-away counter outside the restaurant, also fish! We waited our turn. Friend was in town from Ukraine and I’d heard fish! was good. We ordered the cod. Went to check out and had to pay ADDITIONALLY for tartar sauce. Come on, this take-away counter outside was steep enough but additional? And guess what, I didn’t like the tartar sauce at all. A party of five shoved past us(they were behind us) to grab the only five stools to sit and eat. When our food came, we used those useless wooden forks to pull apart the battered and fried fish to share. My friend had to find a knife to help us cut it. And it was mushy. Seriously, mushy. Two hungry ladies with no desire to even finish the over-priced fish. Fail.

I liked these fish/chips — the fish tasted fresh and the frying definitely added the fat to make it taste great… the side of chips were a nice complement to the flavorful fish. If you’re in the mood for fish/chips, this place is a good option. Their menu has enough to satisfy most palates.

8.95£ for that massive box of really delicious fish & chips? And inside of Borough Market?! I must be dreaming! But no, it really is true. The first time I came here with a friend, we realised that there really isn’t any need to buy two f&c boxes between two people– one is more than enough. In fact, had we each bought f&c box we agreed there was no way we’d have been able to finish it alone. My only complaint would be the apparent lack of outdoor seating– but given it’s a take-away stand, that’s understandable. All in all– great stand, and always a lovely excuse to go shopping at Borough Market(plus it’s easy to get to– just outside the London Bridge tube exit and then next to the Green Market entrance!).

Very good fresh food with incredibly nice staff. I went with my parents, brother, sister in law, and 11mo old niece who they happily accommodated with just-off-the-printer colouring sheets and crayons. The cockles appetiser was fantastic and, because there were so many of us sharing it, they doubled up on the portion size with no extra charge! It was the first time my father had ever had cockles and he absolutely loved them. My mother got the seafood salad, which she liked but I wasn’t a fan of. Three of us got fish and chips(one plaice, haddock, and halibut). I liked the plaice the best but I prefer lighter fish in general. My father is a halibut fan and loved his — I found it too meaty. My brother got a fish pie, which he was a bit nervous about because the fish/cheese combo is a bit odd to us but he loved it. Overall, the food was clearly freshly made — I enjoyed seeing the kitchen right in the middle of the restaurant and watching them prepare some of our food — and high quality. Definitely worth another visit.

The atmosphere and design of this place really saves it, for me anyway. I was only visiting London for about 4 days and felt I could have ate somewhere with better food/value, especially near the Borough Market. I LOVE the glass ceiling concept and whole style of this place but without that, I would rate it a 2 due to how dry my Swordfish was and it really lacked flavor. I got it with the herb butter, which you would think would make it more moist, it was so dry. So sad because swordfish is my favorite and this meal was kind of expensive. I also had the brushcetta which was good, at least I could taste the garlic so I was happy with that. Oh I had a Mimosa which was really good and my boyfriend had a latte which was delicious, so there’s that too. I would probably come back if I lived in London, but unfortunately, I live in the US so I probably won’t be able to give this place a second chance.

Eben.
