A nice little restaurant with an eclectic menu(which you’d guess from the name) and a lovely atmosphere. I had succulent turkish sausages with a mixed root mash, and my friend had a lovely African lamb curry with apricots. Very slightly pricey for what it is(lamb curry was about £15, rather more than an Indian curry of similar size) but not incredibly expensive, which some restaurants along this stretch in Camden can be

IIIIIIII like it! They lean to the side of fancy. It looks like a bar but when I walk in for some late breakfast they immediately pounce and point out to me some table options for one. And scoot my table out a bit to give me room. And the salt and pepper that came later with my food was on a little tray for me to sprinkle. see! fancy. The latte was tasty(alas still not my american standard cup, the elusive beast, I shall find you here I swear it!) and the egg, bacon, cheese sandwich was good and filling with cute little hashbrown triangles. The only downside was that the egg was sunny side up so you couldn’t actually eat it as a sandwich. So it was half sandwich, half kind of egg benedicty with my fork and knife once the yolk broke. There was a cozy looking outside garden space and lots of other places to sit and chill. Will come back on a sunny day and sit out in the front probably.

Want a quick, easy spot to grab a bite while doing the Camden shops? Fogg’s works. This Sunday was my second drop-in here and I have to say on both occasions the service was super friendly and timely. While I have yet to dig into their more eclectic menu offerings, I have enjoyed the homemade burger and chips special as well as a hearty English breakfast. Fogg’s will not disappoint on a regular pop-in and if the weather permits, the outdoor seating will surely provide some of the best people-watching on Chalk Farm.

Fogg’s fits into the up-market part of the cocktail-bar and restaurants found in Camden. Very good food deals for weekday lunches and prices suddenly incline come Saturday. An average cocktail menu is available but be prepared to wait since the bar staff definitely work at snail pace to produce them. I really wouldn’t have anything to complain about if they hadn’t put salt INSIDE of my frozen margarita. Note to staff, the salt goes on the OUTSIDE of the glass. But, I wouldn’t not go there again, the staff were really friendly and it’s a pleasant atmosphere sitting in or outside.

What to make of Fogg’s? Hmmm! I certainly do not dislike the place but I also wasn’t wowed either. They have recently started to remain open all day, so I popped in for a meeting around 4:30pm to find my guest and I were the only people. This meant prompt service. The menu is indeed a memoir of the travels of Mr Fogg himself. In their own words the menu is ‘eclectic.’ And it is. You will still find salads, burgers and other such usual things for the non-adventurous. Price wise you can find light bites for under £5 and certain main meals are under £10. The food quality floats between gastropub level and plain old pub, whilst the surroundings smack of urban swank. Although tasty and good, the swank doesn’t quite come across in the food. I find I would recommend Fogg’s for lunch or a nice inexpensive dinner set in reasonably opulent surroundings. Why not enjoy a little bit of pseudo posh before hitting the madness of the high street? Oh I almost forgot. They do cocktails too. Mmmm!

I’m afraid I’m losing all faith in the«citizen food critic». This place is amazingly average! We ate lunch at Fogg’s today(3÷5÷10). May Bank Holiday. Not from any recommendation but because we were starving, knackered and cold after walking from Little Venice along the canal in our lovely May weather. Anyhoo. Good point: the staff. Average/bad: food, seating. The tables are really crammed, which is great if you’re in the mood to make new friends. If not, not. My alarm bells went off when the food arrived suspicously fast. And my alarm bells spake true. My beefburger was way too thick and bloody. Bloody isn’t a great idea for a burger, since it’s just about the only way you can get food poisoning from beef. The bun was ridiculously huge, which would have been fine if the bread was worth savouring. It wasn’t. The«included» fries were straight out of a bag and undercooked(in stale fat). The lettuce(one leaf) and tomato(tastless) were a pointless addition. The(extra cost) fried onions seemed boiled. The(£2.50) side of coleslaw was, amazingly, quite nice. My mate had some sort of mushroom lasagne which managed to insult Italy and mushrooms at the same time, along with sweet potato fries which weren’t fried(as far as I could tell). I think they may have been dipped in hot oil. Last week. When I saw that the croque-monsieur-type-thingy that my neighbour(sorry, NBF) had ordered was made with Mother’s Pride(or whatever crappy bread is called these days) I’m afraid my last portion of benefit of the doubt evaporated. Gawd. Camden Lock is absolutely crammed with cheap takeaway stalls, and much of it looked delicious(at a quarter of the price of this joint). If we hadn’t been so desperate for a sit down and a bit of peace we would have eaten at one of them. I recommend that you do exactly that. Some of them, I noticed later, actually do have seats(sorta). Yet another not-cheap piss-take of a London eating house. Still, the staff were nice.

This resturant is based on ‘around the world in 80 days’, i would think that a resturant based on any book would be tacky, chainy, too family freindly and horrible. This is the nicest suprise i have had in my 12years of living. I had duck pancakes to start, they had the perfect soft taste, the duck was beutiful and cooked to perfection. For my main I had ostrich, lovely, my first experience of ostrich was a good one. Pudding, none but my parents looked divine. I truley reccomened going there, goood atmospher, good service and it’s in a amazing place. I reccomend you spend the day in camden market then go for food at foogs. FOogs is definatly lovely.

Aw, Fogg’s…the service here is amazing. The Waitresses seriously try to accomodate no matter what. They did indeed move a table outside at our request(hmm, wonder who I went there with… Love you, Suzanne!) and the waitress fixed it so it wouldn’t wobble. The menu included Boar and Apple burgers, venison and rosemary burgers and a kangaroo burger. There’s an asian menu and seafood for those not crazy about the burgers. Good food, with the burger special, four of us ate for about £35. Not a bad Sunday dinner!

There is nothing FOGG-y about the quality of service they give at Fogg’s. I was a bit of a sceptic b/c the prices were a little bit more than I was in the mood to spend, but they had a burger deal I couldn’t turn down. £ 5.95 for a burger and chips! This was a BEAUTIFUL day in London so I did NOT want to sit inside, and they have a garden, but it was a bit cramped so the staff brought a table and set it up outside on the street just for us! The service was very friendly and accomodating, and the people watching was fantastic. The burger was good for how cheap it was. the chips were a little bland, but still. i would order it again. The menu had some interesting choices, but unfortunately my friends and I were not in an adventurous mood(no kangaroo for me, thanks).

I first heard about this place from reading out it somewhere(Can’t remeber where) but the place intrigued me as the menu is inspired from Jules Verne novel ’ Around the world in 80 days.’ here you can dip and dive into any country you like from the starter through to desert. from Africa, Italy, China or L.A. The concept interested me enough to have to experience it for myself… Obviously others have had the same thought as the place was packed when I arrived, but then I should have booked a table. Usually I wouldnt have chosen a spicy tiger prawn starter followed by Rib Eye Steak and Chips, finished with a Mont Blanc. but hell I was hungry, and when in Rome do as Romans! The best part is you can choose which ‘journey’ you wish to go on. like The European Journey, The African, The Asian, The American etc… Kind of fun, and I liked it! The food was pretty good, not spectacular. but then I wouldn’t expect them to be masters of all nationalities. The prices were really good i think the starters were about £3−4 and mains around £8.

Call me a sceptic but I am dubious of most fusion restaurants in London. I try to venture away from these types of restaurants whether it is Pan-Asian, ‘European’ or ‘Tex Mex’ as I generally find them to be lazy, gimmicky or pointless. I didn’t know about Fogg’s «concept» before I went in– I just saw that they did a roast dinner on a Sunday that didn’t cost the earth and because it was getting late and we couldn’t get a table at the Lock Tavern, we decided to go in. To be fair, our roast was fine– it definitely wasn’t delicious, but the meat was well-cooked and there was a decent amount of vegetables on the side. It was only when we looked at the menu afterwards when deciding whether we wanted any desert, that we became fascinated/bemused by the menu. I don’t know why anyone would want a starter from China and a main course from Italy– it seems a bit gross to me– but the restaurant seems to be faring well. It is always packed whenever I drive past on the bus.

A real gem in London. This restaurant is intimate, with great food and a good wine list, and all at a price that won’t bankrupt you for the rest of the month. There is a gorgeous little outside area too for diners to enjoy. I love the wooden chairs and tables and the feeling I get when I walk through the door. The premise of Fogg’s is that there is food offered from his journey around the world, so you’ll find everything from a Malay curry to a real homemade hamburger on the menu. All the food is deliciously fresh and the small waiting time between ordering and receiving your food just goes to show how freshly prepared everything is. As a South African, I was delighted to see ostrich on the menu and when I tasted it I had to say Fogg’s got the preparation just right. The dessert menu is worth a look too and you’ll be taken care of by the staff in a wonderfully gentle manner. No one arriving mid-chew to ask if you are enjoying the meal. One of my favourite places in this big city.
