Service is discreet and the steaks are truly fabulous. Wine list is quite extensive, although the advise can be a bit patchy, best go with someone who knows their wine quite well. Don’t forget to ask for the sharing steak option if you’re going with a group.

Excellent meal! Meat is of a very high quality and the way it is cooked is excellent. The staff are hugely knowledgable on wines and cuts. We had Mario he was fantastic from start to finish. Food was prompt. Recommend the cheesy bread for starters so good we ask for more. Obviously steak for main course. Range of cuts on the table all brilliant. Desert lovely too. All enjoyed with a few bottles of a smooth Malbac. Look forward to visiting again.

What a great coincidence: my birthday was on Malbec day !!! Therefore, not only did we have a great meal at Gaucho, with an amazingly friendly service, great wine and tasty meat, but we had a unique experience: Malbec sangria, Malbec tasting session, Malbec-glazed steak, then Malbec Porto, and finally, a chocolate cheesecake with Malbec ice cream. We are aware that this was an unusual menu, however, we’ll surely go back to Gaucho, if only for the great romantic, solemn atmosphere.

If you’re in the area and want a pretty good steak dinner in a comfortable atmosphere, this’ll do. If all of those together are not your particular scenario, you can do better. For a «nice» place, it had a pub-like noise level(louder than I expected or enjoyed). The cow chair covers were a little unnerving, and a little rough to sit on. Also, what is it with London restaurants where the service is perfectly good until they clear the plates and then you cannot catch someone’s eye to ask for the bill? All that time waiting is me decreasing your tip until you pay attention again.

Awesome food! The steaks here are done to perfection with different types of sauces and marinates of your choice. Highly recommended restaurant with great service and attention to the customers.

Eating at Gaucho is like dining on a ‘classy’ porn set. It has everything you could want for a mucky movie: dark lighting, chandeliers, black walls and cow print furniture. Unfortunately none of this really translates well to dining. It’s too dark to read the menu and the place just seems a lot tackier than the prices would suggest. In fact, that’s exactly the reason for me avoiding the chain for so long. Despite all this there is one redeeming feature it’s the quality of the steak. We had 5 people tucking into a huge sirloin that was tender to perfection. This was an exceptionally cooked £120 slab of meat. Almost enough to completely overlook the cheekily overpriced sauces and the slightly underwhelming sides. This definitely falls into the category of places I would never invite someone to but if I was invited then I would grudgingly go based purely on the memory of that steak.

I feel like I’ve entered into a strange 80s fantasy scifi movie. Oh wait, no, it’s just gaucho’s coked out decorator at it again. Silly cowhide seats and mirrored everything aside, the food was tasty! They have lots of meat options to choose from depending on your hunger and/or wallet. And their flan is uuuumazing. I think Im just a sucker for anything custardy. mmmmm. I had a mix drink from their cocktail list and darned if I forgot the taste of it other than kind of cinnamon? I think it was called the San lucas? But then that’s probably not a good sign that I’ve forgotten the experience all together so lets just say don’t try it unless you’re obsessed with cinnamon. BUT! Their manager or sommelier or overly attentive person who wasn’t our waiter, was very nice and offered to recommend other options to go with our dinner. If you are in need of some coo coo décor and delicious meatiness then I will suggest going to your local gauchos.

Ever since I moved to London I have wanted to go to a Gaucho restaurant. Nearly three years of fruitless efforts of trying to get clients to take me there resulted in failure which is where Steak Night 3.0 stepped in. The restaurant is fairly dark inside which makes reading the menu difficult, but I liked the quirky cow hide chairs. The service was good with a selection of cuts shown to the table on a board. I had 200g of perfectly cooked fillet steak, so perfect that I didn’t need a steak knife to cut through it, certainly the best £25 I spent last week. My only gripe was that the sides were obscenely priced which knocks it down a star. I’ll definitively go to another Gaucho in future, so I’d better get saving.

Gaucho serves up HUGE slabs of well seasoned, well marinated and good quality meat at ridiculously high prices. Especially the tiny sides and sauces! If my meal was about 75% of the price they charged me, it would totally be in contention for a 4⁄5 stars… However, coupled with the price issue and the less-than-wonderful cocktails and the butt scratching cow-hide seats, the stars were just not working in Gaucho’s favor for Steak Club 3.0. BUT, I loved the steak and my fellow Unilocalers and especially happy to finally meat Kevin L !

im going to follow up on what Tristan said. omg meat. so 5 of us shared 1200g of sirloin and holy cow, it was amazing. and we pretty much polished it all off. and while that giant platter of meat was awe inspiring, the rest of the dishes on the table were pretty mouth watering as well. the service was good. attentive, but not overbearing. generally when i wanted something it would take less then a minute to catch a member of staff. the drinks… they all sounded good, if a bit on the sweet side. and in actuality, they wernt anything to write home about. The desserts… we got 2 samplers for the table and they were amazing. 3 fairly good sides portions of yum. we kept tasting one and saying«oh i like that one best,’ then the tasting the next one«no, i think this is best.“so on and so forth. i will agree also with Tristan about charging that freaking much for sauces and sides. the ramekin that the sauce came in was an inch and a half in diameter and maybe the same high. and they were charging 2.75 for that. um WHAT? and the Sweet Potato Fries with Chorizo? Vicky said it best when it was more like sweet potato chunks. which, granted tasted good, but i wanted more texture.

mmmmmmmmmmmmmmeat. OK Veggies, you’d best stay away, unless you want a chopping board full of raw meat waved under your noses and the view of a restaurant full of carnivorous people chewing into great big hunks of juicy, succulent beef. This is my second Gaucho’s experience and it was very similar to the first. Dark lighting — check, thin concertina menus — check, cowhide everywhere — check, good service — check, delicious steaks — check, tasty desserts — check. I could go all the way and 5 star this place but I do have an issue with charging upwards of £5 for vegetable side dishes. I mean, come on, how expensive is broccoli anyway? And £3 for a tiny dollop of sauce seems very stingy. When you’re already paying so much for the steak would it kill them not to overcharge for a few salad leaves? Still, mmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmeat.

Glitz and glamour but not on a monday night. Starter of prawns looked similar in texture to the prawns in cheap prawn mayonaise certainly not freshly made. Hefty waiting times between courses The warmed bowl was hotter than the chips served in it! Back to the kitchen while my steak got cold! A proper apology was given for the poor service. A platter of cheeses and port to go with it. Overall not to be recommended

A cheese board works a bit better than a meat board. On a cheese board you actually see what you could soon be eating. On a meat board it’s kind of like here are some different parts of a dead animal that we are going to turn into something edible. It’s almost dissection day at school. This restaurant has both anyway. This is a bit too expensive for my liking. If I’m paying I doubt I’d come here. The food is very good though, really great steak and sides. The peppercorn sauce wasn’t the nicest I’ve ever had, but now I’m just being very picky! The wines are good too. Had a lovely red with the main course and managed not to choke on my dessert port when told it was 15 pounds a glass. I’ll be backon someone elses budget!
