For the easily alarmed, don’t panic when you see the neon sign saying «Guns» on the windows of Gerrys. No, Wimbledon hasn’t turned into some dodgy guin-​toting area of Chicago. Gerrys sells airguns.
It is an eclectic shop selling a myriad of goods. I’m trying to think of a common theme and probably hobbies just about covers it. You can find fishing rods (and Barbour jackets), tents, snooker cues and darts amongst the merchandise on offer. Seasonally, fireworks are also available here.
The staff are knowledgeable, which is nice as a lot of chain stores train their staff so poorly that they give poor, if not downright misleading advice.
I’ll not panic until Gerrys changes its neon sign to say «Handguns»

Gerry’s of Wimbledon is a great shop for those country bumpkins living in the city (or Wimbledon at least). If you are into your fishing then this shop will be your heaven. With loads of rods, reels and baits and plenty of bivvie bags, tents and outdoor clothing they have everything a fisherman needs. Gerry’s also have accessories and clothing for other sports such as shooting and darts.
Gerry’s has an unbelievable amount of stock and can offer some great advice. The prices are usual for the items on offer but they sometimes have some good sales where you can get amazing bargains.

If you’ve ever felt the need to grab your wallet and spend your entire month’s pay cheque on a survivalist trip into North Africa, Gerry’s has to be your first stop. All the outdoor clothing accessories you need, including shoes, jackets and even a thorn-​proof knapsack. The sport of fishing is taken very seriously here too, and whatever you’d require to subsist on Nile Perch in the Upper Congo is also available.
Worried about bush accommodation? A full range of tents can be found at the back of this rather expansive store. There’s always something exciting about that musty tent smell, it evokes images of sipping coffee from a thermos on wild, African plains, or for some of us, the smoky, high-​energy vibe of a music festival. And for more boys toys: Gerry’s specializes in darts and fireworks too.
