Good location, tiny but has room to pass without bumping into people. Burger was excellent but was from the Star Wars special menu(actually different to the standard burgers though which is great). It even had lightsabers instead of cocktail sticks and the my were colour coded to the character the burger was named after which was a thoughtful touch. Happy hour seemed to last all evening and their cocktails were excellent. I highly recommend the Whiskey Sour with the smoked whiskey — delicious although quite dilute by the time you make it round to the second(free) one.

Bland, dry burger, anyone? No thanks. I was extremely unimpressed with my Steak Canadian(essentially a cheese and bacon burger). It had barely any flavour, which wasn’t helped by the fact that it certainly wasn’t medium rare, as I’d requested. I’d also made the mistake of going for the ciabatta bun, as I’m not the biggest fan of brioche(would it kill burger joints to just offer soft white burger buns?), but I’d definitely advise against this as ciabatta easily overpowers the inner tedium. The chicken wings to start were just kind of weird. I have no idea why raw onion and cucumber were deemed tasty or attractive as an accompaniment, but they were sprinkled over the wings. Unfortunately the restaurant didn’t save itself with a cool vibe. It was a bizarre mix of aesthetics with nothing clearly coming through — the neon sign, the wooden rafters, the creepy birdcage lamps, the prop store chandeliers… yeah, none of this looks good when it’s just incoherent junk. And bad luck for us, we got the table right by the door. There’s no vestibule as such, so anybody waiting just spills right into the restaurant. It was a busy Saturday night, so at times there were about 10 people milling around, basically surrounding us in a distracting and somewhat claustrophobic hellscape. The nail in the coffin: they were stingy with the mayo. For such dry food, extra sauces were definitely required, but the sad dollop we received wouldn’t have been enough for one of us, let alone suitable for sharing. Other positive reviews give me pause, making me wonder if we were just there on a bad night, but with so many factors contributing to a poor experience, I doubt I’ll be returning to find out.

Hache had quite the wait for a table of 5 but once seated, things went quickly. I had the Louisiana Burger(a burger with peanut butter) and it was surprisingly good. Also, we ordered one of each potato sides(fries, wedges, sweet potato fries) and onion rings and they’re large enough to share with a table. The only negative, other than the long wait due to popularity, is that we ordered a nutella/oreo shake and had to remind the server 4 times that we still had not received it. The hostess eventually had to be the one to get us this milkshake. Other than that, it was unique burger experience for London. We were told by a few of the waitstaff that service was much better during slower times — which tells me that maybe they should staff more appropriately? Who wants to eat at off times for better service? That was a bit of a odd statement. Still, the burgers are creative and if you’re hungry at 4PM, I hear this place will offer amazing service. However, from 5−9PM, it’s going to be interesting burgers with long waits, rushed service and forgotten milkshakes.

Wowowowowwowowowowowwowow. Best milkshake ever??? Oreo and nutella omg. Kate moss was right with her ‘nothing tastes as good as skinny feels’. Except for this shake… I’d consider getting fat for these shakes… wow. the burger and fries we great too!

I’d already done myself some serious damage the night before, my liver was quietly hugging the naughty step above my empty stomach, which for some reason was not crying out for mercy, but in a game of oneupmanship against my poor quivering liver, was still wearing it’s game face and wanted fat juicy slabs of meat dripping between two buns. My stomach grumbled whilst I told it I didn’t think there was anywhere adequate enough I could treat it for the amount of noise it was making. Now, my sniffling nose couldn’t take a queuing, not in this winter weather, not on your nelly. More than 5 Guys in a line to get in to a joint? No, not for a burger! Nor could my sallow, Christmas partied out skin take a drying out, whilst sitting in view of a lamp as hot as Byron Bay heating burgers under a serving hatch. Oh but, yes. Hachè. Bless You. If a burger is what my stomach wanted, then fine, I conceded. With quite a fine solution. Her upstairs– the brain tutted and turned the light off, turning over loudly, sighing something about turmeric and kale juice, but gave in with a– «Oh do make sure it has cutlery, linen napkins perhaps, nice lighting and gentle electronica, from the early two thousands; Royksopp maybe, even panpipes will do, I can’t take anything challenging that East London has to offer», said my brain akin to a picked gherkin. Speaking of which, with that I took the compendium of my failing body off to Clapham to be embraced in the civil suburbs where it’s no big deal to part with £2 for the aforementioned dill and sit my aching tired spinal column in a sympathetically lit, Hachè. Our server’s pink flower in her lapel made me feel rather like I was at a 90’s wedding fair, whilst being confidently reassured throughout taking my preposterous order gracefully. Peanut butter?! On my burger? «Yeah that’s fine, of course you’re not going to upset any of the other guests if you put a slice of Bavarian smoked cheese on the ‘Louisiana’, it’ll just compliment it. Highly acceptable, sophisticated even, served on very grown-up ciabatta with ever elegant rocket and an always ungimicky sturdy slice of beef tomato, piqued with but an uncontroversial slice of raw, red onion. Boisterously Enormous battered onion rings? Babe, it’s just sculptural affinity next to the deconstructed bun.»
Is what I imagined she, the waitress gently soothed. But, no she didn’t really, I just mustered the energy to mumble and point at the menu and she duly wrote it down, next to– and my calves will never forgive me, The words, Oreo Milkshake to wash it down. The ambience is upmarket but inoffensive, feminine even, like a perfectly pretty Parisian bistro, with chains of fairy lights, then repeated several times around London. These chaps certainly tip their Chapeau to French Steak Hachè. I wanted to recreate a La Marais experience I once had and ordered mine rare, but it was disappointingly served quite cold as I recall the then, Parisian waiters temperament was. Still, with my grumbling stomach now groaning, my liver woke up from it’s time out and gestured towards the rather fine wine list. With that I took all the pieces left of my recovering self and got them home before I could do anymore damage.

I have extremely high standards when it comes to burgers… And Hache delivered! I don’t know why it took me so long to come here, but I’m glad I did, and I’ll certainly be returning. I called Friday midday to book a table for 8pm that night and they were happy to accommodate. We got there, and there was no queue but the restaurant was definitely crowded. The décor is nice… It’s a little trendy but not over the top. I ordered the Steak Bavarian on ciabatta. They were extra generous with the Bavarian cheese which was a huge plus! To be more accurate… I would give Hache 4.25 stars, with 0.75 knocked down simply because I think Honest Burger is marginally better and a bit cheaper(especially because the burgers don’t come with a side of chips here.) Anyway if you’re in Clapham, check this place out!

AMAZING! Im not a fan of burgers but everywhere else in clapham on a saturday night was busy and this place looked nicely decorated and welcoming. They had a table ready for our group of 4 straight away even though the place was really busy. We ordered chicken wings to start which were really tasty and appetising! For mains my boyfriend had the steak burger and his words were«the best burger ive had in my life» he loves his steak but ive never seen him scoff something so quickly! I had the chicken fajita burger, opted for the low calorie so they substituted the bun for a green salad which is stated on the menu, so dont worry if your on a carb free diet :) My chicken was fab and the toppings went perfectly. We had wedges as sides and a lovely bottle of white wine. I cant wait to go back to this place! Finest Gourmet on Clapham high street :)

Have been on a burger kick recently having lived in the US for a while. Hache is currently my favourite(with Honest Burgers a close second). Excellent flavour, good range and great service. Definitely beats Byron IMO — are they expanding too much too quickly?

I’m having a little bit of a Unilocal review déjà vu as I could’ve sworn I already wrote a review for this place. I’m usually a cheeseburger kinda girl but always willing to try the unusual combos. I’m not quite there with the peanut butter but the jerk chicken burger was amazing! Funny thing is this special table they have that is slightly elevated compared to the other tables. It feels a little like a stage!

After a couple months, I returned to Hache. My 3 friends and I went for lunch and had a bit of a decadent feast. The wings were the starter. Being American, I am a bit critical about my wings. Simply said, the best wings I have had in London… and I have had a LOT of wings. The dipping sauce is seriously addictive. My only suggestion, make the dipping bowl more dipping friendly… it was a bit hard to get the wings dunked in… but I did it :-) The burgers are simply incredible. The flavour was amazing and the use of scotch beef steak freshly ground really made it pop. The fresh brioche bun was the perfect compliment to the flavours. Cheese… fresh and sharp cheddar that covered the WHOLE burger and oozed over the sides… devine. We drank a very reasonable bottle of savignon that helped wash it all down and there was a great selection of all kinds of wines… so we will go back to check out others! Finally, the customer service was brilliant. Our waitress was fun, friendly, professional and shared our excitement for the food. All the staff were very nice and showed pride in their work! So, it’s not just about the burger… it’s all that and so much more!

Well I don’t live in America any more and sometimes I long for a burger like they make them over the pond… perhaps ironically, though, I’m not a big fan of burger joints — Byron, GBK and the like. They always seem a little canteen-y to me. I made an exception for Hache because, OK, I got desperate. The last burger I ate was at Burger King and the one before that was probably McDonalds. Time for some proper steak-in-bread action. Also, Hache is near me. Also, Hache doesn’t look like a canteen, by which I mean, there was a candle on the table and it didn[’t feel wrong ordering a glass of wine. Maybe it’s that french name. So, nice ambience, decent house red, superfluous cocktail menu, friendly staff. And the burger? It was good. I had a burger with blue cheese, cooked perfectly to medium rare(next time I’ll go rare, I was scared by the french name it might turn up mooing), in a tasty and not-too-stodgy brioche bun. My companion said the cheese and bacon — called a Canadian despite it not being Canadian bacon, thank goodness — was excellent. The meat could be a teensy bit tastier but it was juicy and a good portion. Skin-on chips were good but why are they 30p more than skin off ‘frites’? Surely they’ve saved labour costs by not peeling the potatoes… onion rings on a neighbouring table looked so awesome I nearly stole one. The menu is quite extensive and many burgers sounded good. The one with peanut butter and cheese needs trying. Some sound a bit wrong, like the idea of putting a Thai fish cake in a bun. I can’t compare to other burger joints, but this is a pretty nice restaurant which happens to just sell burgers, I reckon.

I absolutely love Hache– I think it’s the best fancy burger place in London. The service and food were great as usual, but for some reason I just don’t like this branch quite as much as the Camden one(which makes no sense as they’re pretty much carbon copies of each other). Good value for money, but they also have offers on during the week at lunchtimes for even better prices.

I’ve dined at Haché quite a few times now and the food quality is consistently good. If you’re looking for a good hamburger or chicken burger this is a great spot. The staff is quite friendly provides good and attentive service. I feel like it’s a good alternative to Byron however I enjoy both. They have quite a variety of burgers and their skin on chips are pretty tasty. My favorite is the Mexican burger however I’m perplexed as to why it has cajun spices… totally different flavors colliding but they work. Much like people in life sometimes. :) There is a table that sits up above the restaurant which seems to be a highly desirable space. I call it the birds nest… you can people watch while waiting on your food. Haché has a decent selection of wines… nothing that’ll knock your socks off but acceptable with a burger. It’s always quite warm in there which is great in the winter. There’s a small outdoor dining area that is nice as well. The décor is interesting with flower lights and I thought the birdcage lights above the bar were cute and fun. This restaurant does keep their washrooms clean which is a major thumbs up in my book. Each door is adorned with sparkly paint which freaked out someone I know who is adverse to glitter. Haché offers a featured burger each month. Recently it is was the Smoked Bavarian which I found quite good. Other favorites on their menu are the Bollywood and Sicilian burgers. Give Haché a go and see what you think, I’m fairly certain there is something on the menu you’ll fancy. For this American Southerner rambling about London in search of an «amazing» burger my quest continues but Haché is pretty good y’all!

I need to stop saying that i don’t eat red meat, or burgers, because lately, i do! i came here before heading to the cinema — i have heard good things, and i felt it would be doing a disservice to the restaurant to judge them on anything else other than their burgers(proper steak burgers, not any of the chicken, fish or veggie options) so i went for a burger cooked medium with blue cheese on brioche. just the week before i went to byron — and they blew hache’s burgers out of the water. it was just average — i didn’t think it was a particularly flavoursome patty, and i wasn’t absolutely delighted that i had broken my non meat ban(at bryon i was doing a dance, for sure!), also i don’t think it was cooked to medium enough — i like to see a bit of pink! i think the patty was too thin to allow for that. we also shared a side of sweet potato fries — something that is not so common in the UK, but which i appreciate mightily, and an order of onion rings. the onion rings were greasy, but served in a plentiful portion. i thought the prices were kinda high — they could do with lowering the price of a burger by a pound or two. the actual restaurant itself was pleasant, and even though it wasn’t busy, it had a nice ambience. i liked their lights over the bar which were intertwined with little decorative birds — very nice idea. the waiting staff were friendly and service was quick.

Does the world need another gourmet burger joint? Clearly it does. Don’t go here if you’re on a diet. The steak burgers are cooked well and come with lots of different delicious toppings. I would highly recommend the potato wedges to share, I could eat them all day. I would avoid the cocktail of the day, it’s likely to be full of sugar and little else. Probably better than the Gourmet Burger, a nicer ambiance at least.

Having been to the Chelsea branch of Haché just over a year ago, I expected the burgers to be good here. But to be honest, the end result was a mixed bag. I tried the Louisiana Steak Burger;(a cheddar cheese burger topped with crunchy peanut butter). Diners have a choice of buns, either a white Ciabatta bun or Brioche bap. All burgers are topped with a rocket and tomato garnish; a nice touch. On the side we tried the Sweet Potato fries, which were surprisingly good. I asked for my burger to be cooked Medium Rare, and despite being relatively juicy, it was still a little overdone for my taste(hardly pink at all). Prices are steeper than GBK at around £8−9 a burger. This wasn’t a real issue for me, what bothered me was I left with my clothes smelling like I had been working in McDonalds all day. I couldn’t see the kitchen, but I guess the fumes were wafting into the dining area a little too easily. The venue is also a little rough around the edges(Despite being a relatively new arrival to Clapham), and for some unknown reason smarties are served with each bill. A mint would have been more appropriate. You could do worse in Clapham, it’s not bad, but it’s not amazing either.
