Cheap and cheerful Vietnamese. Would push this Banh Mi to a near 4 star actually. Was surprised how tasty it was. Not sure if they are a chain now by but cosy small setting here. Will come back again for sure.

Mediocre food. Sullen staff. Too cool by half. Go down the road to viet on parkway instead. This place will probably close down soon.

Yum, thank you to Hawker for bringing Bahn Mi to Camden, my lunch options are much improved. The queue is ridiculous, but worth it when you have an extra 10 minutes, and the food is really tasty. For me, the boxes are often a bit too heavy, but that’s not to fault their taste at all. They’re fantastic and if I knew how to stop when I was full, I’d probably get them all the time. As it is, I tend to stick with sandwiches as they’re more likely to leave me capable of working for the rest of the afternoon!

Nice restaurant! Food tastes good and serves fast! It’s a pity that the construction site hides this wonderful place. But still quite a crowd during lunch time. Definitely will come again when i want some vietnamese food. Regular size phở is a bit small but enough for a girl on diet^^ healthy and tasty, satisfied a diet stomach

When I’m down near Mornington Crescent, this is the place I go for lunch. They’re not particularly quick, especially at busy times. But the food is really worth the extra 3 – 4 minutes I wait for it. I get the vegetarian box with vegetarian summer rolls and I love the peanut sauce. I’m not 100% sure, but I’m pretty sure there’s no subtle stuff like fish sauce lurking in there, which(if true) makes it ideal for vegetarians. The vegetables always taste crisp and fresh. The peanut sauce is really yummy and clearly fresh made(it separates if you leave it too long – no preservatives here!). Lunch is nutritious, cheap, and delicious and I like the hip atmosphere.

The transition of Mornington Crescent from expressing the character of dingy Somers Town to hip Camden is happening one store-front at a time(e.g. Simmons, El Parador, Patagonia, Leyas). Hawker, a delicious new Vietnamese eat-in or take-away, is a sign of the times, and a damn tasty sign at that. The Phở is excellent, full of tasty meat(chicken or beef) and vegetables, with the broth expressing just the right amount of minty-limey goodness. They use flat rice noodles instead of vermicelli, which works just fine. You can also get a small phở for less than £4, and that’s more than enough for a light lunch. The service is fast and friendly, and the interior, though bare-bones, is clean and attractively minimalist. Other dishes on offer are the ever-popular Banh Mi(Vietnamese baguettes), Vietnamese spring rolls and a small but delicious variety of other rice and noodle boxes(bbq pork, chicken curry, tofu). Everything is prepared daily, and the ingredients are very fresh. It’ll cost you a bit more than Pret-a-manger across the road, but it is well worth it! Hawker also offers small-batch, fair-trade coffee and espresso(mozzo), though I have yet to sample it. When I got there at 1:30, it was still packed with happy late-lunchers, so you might want to arrive on the early side if you need a table. If this is your first time venturing into the no-man’s-land between Camden Town and Euston, check out the Carreras building just down the street. It’s one of the only surviving examples of Egyptian-Revival(Art Deco) architecture in England, and it is fantastic!
