Ridiculously over priced even in this location. I had a Tuscan sausage baguette(£4) that was hard enough to hurt my teeth. Expensive brownie(£2) that was mostly air and the packet of Burts 80p crisps was ¼ full, though not their fault. I’d rather use indie cafes but won’t be getting lunch here again.

This place has a fancy menu but doesn’t quite live up to expectations — I had a dry and unappetizing goat’s cheese tart. I will at some point go back and try their hot dishes in the hope they are a bit better. Victoria Sponge was ok, although since my sister made me one filled with lemon buttercream every other Sponge is basically ruined forever. Chocolate brownie is super weird — almost like mousse. Coco di Mama’s are better. Apparently they have good coffee here, although I don’t drink it.

Hillard as it is called here, or Hilliard as it is called on its menu is a gastro caff. Serving both to a small number of customers who can sit our the queue that snakes arouind this tiny outlet for lunch who get take out. Hilliard has a daily menu always changing built around great British ingredients. Visiting today, I treated myself to a main dish of Pork Belly, roast potatoes, courgettes, a sauteed apple, with gravy and crackling. The juices available next to the ready made sandwiches in the fridge are all made with fine and what seems to be well sourced products. The apple juice range varied in sweetness and was all from the UK, if you get my drift. Seating is limited and only for around 15 people, so not one for groups. Although this is possibly my favourite place to eat int nhe local area if money is no object.
