MASSIVESCAMMERS!!! Paid with my credit card for some frozen prawns. The cashier didn’t speak enough English to use the card reader properly so claimed that I hadn’t paid when I had. After much arguing in the store, the manager made me leave without the prawns I had paid for. Now that it’s been proven that I did pay, they’ve lied to my credit card company to say that I took the prawns with me! I, like an idiot, trying to support our local independent shops only to discover that they are THIEVESANDLIARS! I’ll go to the Tesco from now on, thank you very much.

FINALLY an Asian supermarket in North London! They’ve just moved into town and are still getting settled in. There is great potential here! When my parents came to visit, my mom filled my kitchen with goodies from this shop. They had almost everything she was looking for, from fermented fish sauce to wonton noodles to banana tree leaves! They have a few aisles full of dry goods(noodles & rice) and sauces. Then there is another room with a fridge and freezers. Everything is definitely a work in progress. I’m glad to welcome this shop into the neighborhood. I no longer have to make the trek all the way to Chinatown!

Ramen, no not just ramen, great ramen or as the Unilocalers like to call it ‘RAAAAMEN!’. Growing up in Manchester has wonderful advantages including a huge chinese and oriental community and the space for huge ethnic warehouse style shops that sold a menagerie of wonderful products; a range of things I’ve struggled to easily find in London. Well well whats this a mini supermarket at my doorstep, shall I do a happy dance or say ‘huzzah’ a lot? Here you can buy my childhood favorites such as ‘koh kae’ peanuts, really nice ramen, fresh miso, whole(living) crabs and lobsters or perhaps frozen random bits of animal. All in all a very refreshing and much needed place local to me. Randomly they also sell vastly overpriced small packets of pringles… who knew. In other words if you want genuine good quality oriental products(in bulk if need be), are local and dont fancy a drive then this place is it.

This is a decent little asian supermarket on Holloway Road with a nice selection of chinese, korean, thai, vietnamese goods… and even a few filipino items. If you’re looking for a spice, vegetable or a otherwise hard-to-find asian food thing, you can probably find it here.

A welcome addition to Holloway Road. Chinese supermarket with some Thai, Japanese and Korean items plus Chinese vegetables, small fresh fish counter and frozen food section. Friendly service too.
