Just returned the other night from the UK and spent a few nights here for an event based at the Excel Center. I was pleasantly surprised at how easy it was to get here via Tube(if you are coming from Heathrow, take the Picadilly Line to Green Park, then switch to the Jubilee line to the final stop; at rush hour, expect it to take anywhere from 1.30 hrs to 2 hrs). My stay was flawless. They let me check in quite early(9:30 am), daily breakfasts were buffet style and had killer croissants, location was about a 5 minute walk from the tube station through the entire mall. Staff were genuinely friendly and helpful. Room was generously sized but had no clock. Flat screen TV, in room safe, and really nice bathrooms. Two very minor notes: the toilet seemed a bit rickety for some reason and there was a loud humming that might annoy some people. Couldn’t figure out where it was coming from. If you want them to call a mini cab, it’s a private service and will cost a bit more(example — 20 quid vs 15 quid). And dear god, it was in the midst of London’s biggest mall so plenty of choices for food and drink and an evil place to be if you are mad into shopping.
