Homemade Cafe And Patiserie

A local business that deserves to do a great trade. Sticking out like a sore thumb in an area not exactly known for «nice», this place is well kept inside and out. Quaint French styling is a nice change, and great to have takes outside. The staff (owner I think) are incredibly friendly. Coffees are really well made, fresh and under prices. Cakes are tasty and always good. And they even do a few simple hot dishes like casserole which are chalky home made. Best of all… The croque monsieur… good enough to have every day if I could.

I had a awful day in the outskirts of Walthamstow, I’d just walked for three miles only to be told I’d been given the wrong address. I was starting to hate my my life. I needed to sit. I needed coffee. I needed it immediately.
The maximum price for coffee here is £1.50 and it’s not bad though predictably they are using a standard home self grinding coffee machine. The décor was nice and quite the oasis among the portakabin chic of the surrounding area.
There are a fair few cakes but not enough justify the title patisserie. In a addition they do sandwiches but again only two types. I went for the chicken and roast vegetable for £3. I had trouble finding either in the sea of mayonnaise on what was a small sandwich. Much better if they if they had lean meat, perhaps with pesto and generous roast veg.
My first trip here was happy as it is a nice place that needs to have more options, it’s cheap and perfectly good. Compared to other local shops I could not find anything where I felt I could sit and bring others. If they get some more options with some better quality the stars will rise.
