My boyfriend and I stopped by this place on the way to another café consistently well reviewed on Unilocal. We probably should have just kept walking. I feel super mean saying that but our food just wasn’t great. The menu was eclectic, with a massive and seemingly random selection of offerings from breaded Camembert and roast dinners to Char Sui Buns and Mexican burrito bowls, plus all day breakfasts. I opted for the pancakes with blueberry compote as I had a sweet toothed moment. When they arrived I was staggered by the size of them. They were more like cakes than pancakes, they’d clearly been cooked in a small frying pan and then grilled rather than flipped. It gave them a kind of strange looking texture but I dived in regardless… only to cut it and have liquid pancake batter run out on to the plate. All three were the same. In fairness the waitress swapped them straight away for me but my partner had already finished his meal long before they brought my replacement, meaning we both had to sit and eat on our own. His omelette looked good and the fries were tasty although I little soggy. Overall, the service was good but disappointing to have to pay £8 for raw food and an uncomfortable experience as we had to watch each other eat.

Wide variety of food and all very good. The staff were very courteous and although we had to wait a short while when the evening for busier, we were in no hurry. Definitely recommend.

It’s not right, but it’s okay, I’m gonna eat here anyway. Paraphrasing the late Whitney Houston is the best way I can describe this dining experience. Maybe that’s too harsh, I had a great meal here with some dear friends. The food was good, but my goodness you couldn’t get a drink or the bill to save your life! Was visiting London so of course I had to go over to East Putney, the hottest spot in the metro area. Luckily I have friends there so we journeyed down to Hudson’s for dinner. Not much of a beer selection. Peroni on tap was all they had for draft. The food was all good. Starters: Fried Camembert– eaten in a flash. Very good. Potato skins– different from the ones we have in the US, but very good. They chop up the potatoes rather than scooping them out and refilling them Entrée: Scampi and chips– Looked good, PW liked it. Burger– Nicely prepared, BS cleaned his place Dublin Chicken– This was my meal. As soon as I saw cheese and bacon, I knew I had to put this inside my belly. It was very good. They were out of the scotch egg appetizer, which disappointed me. But like I said, the food was tasty but I finished my first beer before the entrees came and didn’t get another one until I had finished eating. It literally took 35 minutes to get the check. So if you’re not in a rush and you don’t get very thirsty, this is a terrific place. If you like to drink with your meal and don’t want to spend three hours on dinner, not so much. Note: they add a 10% service charge automatically to the bill ___________________________________ RIP Whitney

Great food! Unbelievable prices! Massive starter and HUUUGE main all for 12.95! Plus a bottle of wine between us and we hardly spent 25 quid each. The unfortunate thing about Hudsons is how packed it is, and cosy you constantly knock into people when you are trying to get to the bathroom/in/out. The waiters were stretched, food took a LONG time but the atmosphere was good and the food was AMAZING so we happily can dismiss the long wait. Definitely recommended, Full capacity on a tuesday night. Our party of 6 all enjoyed their meals and cant believe how great their pricing and quality of food is!

Really enjoyed going to this restaurant for breakfast and dinner. They have a half price menu of tapas until 8pm most nights and the food is good quality. Lovely busy atmosphere inside this small restaurant. Not in the busy centre of putney, but I would still recommend it. It is a 2minute walk away from a live music pub where you can continue your evening on :)

I visited Hudsons for Sunday Lunch, and the place was packed. There are seats outside, and further seating inside, with a glass conservatory roof out the back. Nice atmosphere and blackboards, trilby hats and bare brickwork complete the look. There are plenty of options on the menu, with a few mexican dishes, alongside, enlgish grub. Being Sunday I had to opt for a roast, I went for chicken, and it was very good, they give you plenty of meat, and it was nicely seasoned. Roast costs around £11 each. Did not try the desserts but they did look yummy. Will def visit again, hopefully sans hangover…
