I had stayed at a hotel near by a few days earlier and saw this new fresh looking ibis styles hotel as i walked by. So liking a change each time i was in London for work reasons i booked myself in. The hotel itself takes over approximately 4 of the old ¾ story town houses in london. Beautiful building. They have knocked them through leaving the façade, but retaining very few of the internal features. instead creating corridors as per your average hotel. The lobby is very welcoming and full of colour. a lovely welcome. However the lift was broken. As i was only staying the one night it didn’t matter as i had little luggage, but i did witness other people struggling. The building was still in the process of completion though so maybe it would be fixed soon. The bedroom was pleasant, nice, huge bed, desk, nice bathroom. I had absolutely no complaints there except… 1. the air conditioning wasn’t very easy to control. I got up twice in the night, once too cold and once too hot. 2. the corridors were noisy. I’d been up til about 3am working and was woken by the echoey loud noise of other people going down to breakfast around 7am. They weren’t being particularly noisy, but the décor of the hotel just carried the noise through. At £130 ish for the room the price was good for London and the hotel clean, pleasant and nice. i think they just needed to finish building it and get some soft furnishings in to absob the noise.
