Jill’s Hair Salon

I have never left a comment on one of these review sites before, but felt duty bound after having received two wonderful treatments from Jill’s salon (plus the bad review but I will get to that laterJ) I have often stuck with trendy high-​end salons in the past, dazzled by the shop frontage and the familiarity of the brand name. I had mistakenly made the natural assumption that as these salons are well recognised, my hair would be treated as it deserved. not the caseI felt like a battery chicken being pushed through by money hungry stylists eager to have my chair cleared for the next unsuspecting sap. The good news is that I was recommended to Jill’s salon by a friend (who has been going there for years) and frankly I was shocked that I had been paying good money in these trendy places when somewhere like Jill’s was local to me! The trendy salons offer glossy stylists, and modern interiors but the staff are cold and unaccommodating, the same cannot be said for Jill’s. This also brings me onto the point made by the cowardly Joanna35. Joanna For the interests of fairness I will play along with your account of the experience received in Jill’s.but I have a couple of questions. Why did you not complain immediately and rectify the issue? I have spoken to Laraine myself about the same sort of treatment for my own hair, and frankly Laraine (and her staff) have told me of the years of colouring experience held by staff at the shop, and she knew every angle to consider before giving me advice. Excuse me for being slightly sceptical (this is my opinion) but I would like to lay claim that you are not an individual who had a treatment done in her shop (as the complaint seems to be highly imaginative) but another rival establishment attempting to blacken her name shame on you! I would like to end this review by saying that I thought that the service I once received in salons-​of-​old had died a death (e.g. the Stylists remembered your name even if you had not been in the shop for 2 years etc) but I am pleased to say that I was proved wrong. If you would like a level of service that is worth more than money and prices that are reasonable and of good value, then I would highly recommend Jill’s!

Pass the salon quite often and noticed they had a sign stating that they do ‘mens hair cuttiing £10) so I popped in without an appointment one saturday morning and after a short waite got a nice hair cut. What I did like was that they cut my hair and then washed it, so no loose hair or the need to wash it again when I got home. It cost £10 and I was very pleased with cut. They could be a tad friendlier.
