Don’t let the main image fool you; this is shockingly good pizza. I’m a NYC pizza snob through and through, and the better London pizza places have so far managed to reach about a 5 out of 10 on my pizza snob scale. I think this place has legitimately cracked the upper end of the scale — maybe a 6.5? Thin crust, crisp but not crackery, good sauce, quality toppings, not too greasy, delivered hot in about 20 minutes to my place a mile away, and very reasonably priced. I haven’t eaten in their establishment yet, so I can’t comment on the ambiance, but I was pretty happy with the pepperoni and mushroom and spinach white pizzas we got delivered. The pepperoni pie even had a hint of spiciness in the sauce that really added to the overall flavor. I’ll definitely be trying them again.

Good pizza at a fair price is hard to come by in London and the rest of the UK. Most places charge £12+ for a 12″ pizza that literally costs £3.50 in Italy. These places also tend to be very stingy on the mozzarella, they’re just okay but not as good. I’ve yet to find a place, for a decent price, that oozes cheese when you cut a portion(as should be the case). Joe & ‘Za is an exception, and at an unbeatable price. Stop being a sheep, boycott the unspoken pizza overcharge mafia.

Rainy evening in with my partner and a visiting friend. 9pm and hunger strikes. We sure as hell did not fancy venturing out into the downpour and decided to order from Deliveroo. We weren’t entirely sure what we wanted, just something filling and comforting. Burritos? Curry? Pizza? Our thoughts lingered on the latter. Pizza in the UK is usually way overpriced considering the ingredients, £10 for a pizza just doesn’t seem worth it when I used to pay 5 euros back when I lived in Italy. Joe and ‘Za captured our attention when we noticed that their 12″ margherita only costs £5.50. Between the three of us we got two margheritas and a bianca pizza with truffle cream, gran padano, goats cheese, feta and butternut squash to share. We did not expect to receive three perfect pizzas for such an honest price in London. The crust was thin and crispy but far from being burnt and dry. It was infused with rosemary, a really nice touch. The seasoning in the tomato sauce was just right, a perfect balance between the oregano and basil. They were really generous with the mozzarella unlike most English pizza restaurants. The bianca pizza was very rich and best shared, but it was delicious and the taste combination was well thought out and near perfect. Having now tried quite a few pizza options in London, we have found our perfect match. Joe and ‘Za will be our go-to option when we are hungry and in need of pizza!

New pizza and coffee place just behind old street. Only had a coffee so far, but the pizza looked and smelled pretty great. Especially liked the look of the gorgonzola special. Coffee was lovely, they use beans from Nude and know what they’re doing. Looks like a good spot for the work lunch crowd Owners said they’ll be doing dinner soon, too, so I’ll update the review once I’ve been able to give them a proper try.
